Haha amazing. Podkolzin is (frank)ing awful and far too stupid to ever make it. He has no chance to even make it as a low event 4th line plug. I keep hearing he had high hit totals. I can’t ever recall him making an impactful hit. He is (frank)ing soft

Maybe we should move on and talk about how great the Canucks prospects are, after going 2 and 0 in the young stars tourney.
Still waiting for VHG and K-man to give some feedback

3-0. Can't you ever give the young Canucks a break.

Corrected and thanks. It is one of the rare occasions that I make a mistake,

Isn't that the trophy that noted great defenseman Erik Karlsson has won as well. It has become more like a participation ribbon

To be fair it sort of lost all credibility when EK won a Norris

Then that can be said for any trophy that is left to voting. You can go through the history of it and find a year that you can say the same thing and use the outliers to discredit a player who deserves it.

QH had an amazing season. He was not a defensive black hole like EK has been. EK Norris wins have no reflection on QH. My point stands. Ruby shat on this guy his entire career.

Not true. I complimented him 3 seasons ago, and left him alone last season, as he had a very good season, at both ends of the ice.

Sure, you backed off last season but still in the middle of him playing lights out you would focus on a exaggerated situation and go off about it. I always laugh when you do that to him because it's like there are these unicorn defensemen who play over 20 min a game and make no mistakes... even though the mistake you would harp about didnt play out anything like the case you were making.

Generally the people in here you call guzzlers, slurpers and fanbois are simply countering the never ending whining about young players playing like young players. In the Canucks case, these two you hate are steamrolling through the Canuck's all time records like a bullet. What the hell is wrong with being patient with these guys? Is being patient really something that deserves so much spite?

You were complaining about the Norris. You were saying it lost all credit because it was awarded to EK.... and QH's Norris was being discredited by Ruby because of EK being awarded it. I disagreed. That's where you entered the Norris discussion. So does the trophy QH just won have any credit or not?

Yes, it just means he's Swedish.

Hey, there's been some pretty great Swedish players in the NHL playoffs. I think Detroit won a bunch of Cups with Swedish guys carrying some of the load for them. Yzerman is a genius!! Just thought I'd throw that in there to annoy some folks.

Historically Swedish players make up less than 10% of NHL players, although that number seems to rise all the time, or does it? I think Sweden produces more NHL players per capita right now than any other nation on earth...including Canada? Viva la Sweden!! LOL!!

* Nick Lidstrom was pretty good in the playoffs, Conn Smythe?
* Zetterberg was pretty good in the playoffs, another Conn Smythe.
* Victor Hedman, another Conn Smythe.
* Peter Forsberg 14th all time in NHL playoff history Points-PG.
* Niklas Kronwall
* Kent "the magic man" Nilsson
* Tomas Holmstrom
* Johan Franzen
* Mats Naslund
* Nicklas Backstrom
* Bob Nystrom
* Hakan Loob
* Pelle Lindbergh
* Mats Sundin
* Henrik Sedin
* Daniel Sedin

Using worldometer for population numbers, Sweden has a per capita of NHL players at 0.000603, while Finland has a higher per capita of NHL players at 0.000641 and Canada has a per capita of nhl players at 0.00109.
So it would appear that Sweden might supply the 3rd most based on per capita.

As usual, you get into trouble while thinking.

Alriksson impressed me. Good vibe in town, fans from all over. RT has been making the rounds. Training camp should be interesting.

Sounds like he impressed a few people. A buddy of mine, a Flames fan, caught most of all games played, he figured Alrickson was the best player in the tournament.

Be nice to see him eventually make the big team. Would help take the sting out of the first round misses.
