After reading Demko's comments, that I took from Canucks Army, it sure sounds like you are onto something.

When I first injured myself in the playoffs, it was such a rare case, such a unique injury, that we didn’t really have a lot of readily available research or case studies, or really any information to have a concrete timeline. We were told this might be a situation that we might find ourselves in, the one we’re in right now.
“I’ve been able to rehab a ton this summer, and sure it’s taken a little longer than I would’ve liked, but especially the last couple weeks on the ice I’ve been feeling a lot better and there’s definitely some light at the end of the tunnel, and I have full confidence I’ll be back out there.
“When I first felt the injury, obviously I wasn’t too sure what it was, but as we dived into some research and some things, it was a little bit ambiguous. It’s been a bit of a frustrating summer just trying to get some answers. Obviously we’ve talked to all the specialists we can around the world… and this is the information we’ve gathered. Myself, the staff, and the organization are fully confident that we’re on the right track.
“I would say it hasn’t been quite linear. I think looking back as a competitor, you know, I think you kind of lie to yourself in the playoff situation, and I thought maybe I was a little bit farther ahead than than I was in hindsight. I do think that I would have been in a situation where I probably would have been able to kind of get through it and maybe get out there and play in the conference final there. You know, I’ll say that I did hit a bit of a wall in the summer as far as the recovery went and we did see a little bit of a lack of progress there for a couple months. And obviously that’s why I’m in the situation that I’m in right now. But I would say, like I said, the last probably two or three weeks, we’ve seen a ton of progress. We’re very confident in where I am right now and happy with that.”
“I think I’ll be able to get to 100%. There’s a lack of research, I don’t know too much about what this looks like, full picture at the end of the whole process, but I have full confidence that I’ll be able to get back to 100%. I’m sure it’ll be a situation just like anything when when you have an injury is something you have to keep an eye on and maybe tweak some of your training habits and some of your rehab habits and and just stay on top of your maintenance and things like that. But I don’t have any any doubts that I’ll be 100%.
“There’s not one case that we can find [of the injury]. Goaltender, hockey player in general. It’s been wild. and it’s been part of the frustration. It’s just not having a ton of information, you’re kind of just going into it blindfolded. It can be scary at times, and I think we’ve done a good job handling that as a group, with the medical staff and the organization, and doing the best we can in that front. We haven’t found a single hockey player, we found maybe less than five soccer guys. I guess I’m leading the charge for the next guy that has something like this, I guess I’m helping them out,” Demko quipped.

The link that golfing posted said that it is attached to the knee. Unless I hear otherwise, I am going to make myself sound smart and call it what it was called in that link

I don't find any clarity in Demko's comments. A long word salad ending with,"we're not sure".

I like the kid but he would get demolished in the NHL. Needs more time to add strength and size
- CanuckDon

Yeah, I can't see him making the NHL full time right now, but nice to get a look where he likely plays when he does make it.

Seeing his body language, I think he's being tentative because they genuinely still are missing so much info. He explicitly said he wanted to be upfront with the media so they don't get mixed messages from management/coaching staff(like with Petey).

Clearly they haven't got it completely figured out yet, and rehab is never linear, so it would be a mistake to try and over explain/commit to a timeline imo

Ya, a lot of words to get to the not sure part, but I am going with Dr. Golfing's opinion on this matter.

Golfing is the man! A doctor, can bench 400 pounds, picks up skanks on the reg, and a talented musician. A bros bro!

This is the kind of antiquated thinking that sinks teams. That could potentially be a brilliant contract for the Coyotes if that kid goes off and becomes a perennial 30-40 goal scorer. He had 18 goals last year in 45 games as a 20 year old.

You don't just get paid for what you've done, you get paid on potential, kinda like the Pettersson contract. They're betting he'll be a perennial 90 point player over the life of that contract.

I would take that deal in a second in lieu of that stupid trade Benning made for OEL. Even if he was the only asset.

Until Petey earns it, his contract sucks. He wasn't even the 2nd best player on this team last year. You don't win with potential.
