Scott Laughton? - corduroy
Yeah though I think he is a step up than a 4th liner. Just a little.
Not what you want out of your 1st rd pick. |

Hunter McDonald stayed here all summer and worked out at the Flyers facility. He put on a whopping 20 pounds of muscle.
I wonder what Hunter’s stack is? - StepfordSam
20 pounds of muscle in 3 months???? Is that possible without certain supplements?

When you look at it as a little over a half pound a week (.6) it's not so out of the ordinary.

Don't sleep on McDonald.
Interested to see Michkov tonight.
Gendron also. He needs to get stronger but has some skill. |

It's actually extraordinary. Unless he hit a second puberty. |

I'm sure it is for me and you. But he is a professional athlete with access to dietitians and personal trainers and everything else you need.

I'm sure the possibility is there. But none I can remember. I am just overly sensitive to it since the last really high pick we had never planned out due to injuries. - MBFlyerfan
Ah. Those were due to innate predispositions.
The ideal scenario for this team would be to have MM, York, Drysdale, Farabee, TK, Sanheim and Couts shine, and the rest do very poorly. The easiest way for that to happen would be a goalie collapse. |

I hope it (frank)ing collapses.
It would change everything.
Your biggest fear should not be a a Ranger kid messing with MM's head. It should be Torts messing with MM's head.

Yeah I divided 12/20 instead of 20/12. (simply 4 weeks times 3 months)
In my defense it has been longer than 3 months. Their last game was in the middle of May. So 17 weeks, 20 lbs.
Like I said, with dietitians, personal trainers, and access to all the resources of an NHL franchise, it doesn't seem that far fetched.

I'm already resigned to that inevitability. Thankfully Torts equally treats each player unequally.

Its not like putting on weight, as you know I am sure. You build muscle by overstraining your muscles to breaking point and beyond. Then, very soon after, you hit the body with as much protein as you can. And the 3rd component would be as much rest as possible.
The problem is, your body starts to rapidly adapt, and weights you found challenging now are no longer breaking those muscles. Then, you overload but do too much and your muscles give out.

I would imagine now that the camp is starting that will level off and regress because he wont be able to do the same kind of training.

Trainers are usually well trained in alternating your workouts so your muscles get a different workout and not used to repetition.

You sure its only 3 months. Usually weights are done the same time each year, or at the combine
