You named wingers for a center position.
We got a 25 year old who I think is(or at the least could be) a top defensive player in the league.
For and oft injured prospect that would be FIGHTING for a spot currently. And in the future.
We have Rosen, Kulich, Ostlund, Helenius, Neuchev, Poltapov, Whalberg waiting in the wings. We dealt from a strength to improve a weakness. - DirtyDan
Kulich can play center as I said. If you'd like a center though, Phillip Danault would've likely been about the same price, is good defensively, but can actually put up points.
If McLeod is the "top defensive player in the league" then he will have to improve by leaps and bounds, but it would be the best trade this franchise has ever made. I would happily be wrong. Overjoyed even. I just don't see it.
Either way, moving on. |

A top defensive player. as in 1 of X amount. And if hes not.. could be imo.
But can Kulich play center at the NHL level. I have my doubts and I think hes better used on the wing any way.
Phil Danault makes 5.5millions. We traded the guy we didnt want to pay that to... |

I dk, I think Kulich can play either LW or C. Just depends on who you ask I guess.
Move Sammy or Clifton and you cover the difference between McLeod and Danault next year. Easy peasy. Not sure if you have to pay to get rid of Clifton or not, but know Philly was ready to pony up for Sammy. |

Depends on who you ask cause he hasn't done it. Thats why I asked if he CAN play center at the NHL level. We don't know.
Was Danault even available? |

Dirt has turned McLeod into his phenom this offseason like boss went all in on Levi last season.
Ruff is the right guy for this group….even though Don Meatball was the greatest coach in the history of the game last season.
The short term memories on here are laughable and it explains a lot.

Stefan Noesen would've been a good signing. That'd be for free. As far as acquisitions go then it gets tricky as we might argue about returns, but Brandon Tanev or Jesper Fast would've been fine additions that are probably much cheaper, if a defensive forward was the big need.
And fair enough. I kind of thought that was what we had the highly defensive 4th line for, but if he does open Tage/Cozo up for more offensive zone draws...great! - QuinnFan
Noesen will be good for devils depth |

Fantasy question.
15 team points only pool. Snake draft with 15th overall pick.
Keep 1 (or none)…
A. Keller in the 3rd round (45th pick)
B. Mittelstadt in the 12th round
C. Neither. Not enough value. |

casey was tied for 101st in points last year which is like a 7th round pick
keller is worth a 3rd round pick if you can do both |

Think he even makes 30pts next year? Keep in mind he got his highest total, of 30, last season on the SC final Oilers.
If not, how can you not have an issue with that trade? - QuinnFan
30 points is the determining factor ?
McLeod is known for his speed and defensive abilities
How much quality ice time does a guy get playing behind mcdavid, Leon and Rnh |

The most he has ever been noticed was for being traded for a top 10 pick. |

Would defensive forward be the better category? That's kind of what I'd been calling him previously. And no harm or foul here, agreeing to disagree is absolutely fine. But I'm curious how you'd categorize him. - QuinnFan
Defensive 5v5/PK forward with 50 point upside.
Most importantly, doing his job extremely well at an extremely reasonable rate. |
