Jett is not making the team stop it. He isnt close to being the type of player to jump into the NHL from the draft plus you dont want him playing minimal 3rd or4th line lines...let him play1st line and PP minutes while he develops.

I agree, not happening this year. Not even a guarantee for 25/26

Andrae should stand out and look good. if he didn't then that would not be good at all.

no need to keep hearing jett was one of the youngest in his draft class.

did Rizzo stand out in any way for those who watched the games?
- hello its me 2050

Rizzo scored the game tying goal in game 1 to force OT. Looked OK overall, not great.

No, there is a need. Some are eager to see him rushed directly to the NHL. I am dead set against that possibility. No nine-game trial spread over several weeks with a possible conditioning assignment to get him some AHL games, too. Don't screw with him. Have him in Guelph.
- bmeltzer

I don't think Luchanko will be rushed. He'll play another year at Guelph and have a great +1 year, and be on the Flyers next season. He showed me a lot of good things over the two games. His speed is of course the easy thing to see, but what I liked were the won puck battles and his play on the PK. Tells me he is heading in the direction of being a complete player.

I don't give rats ass about the Commanders. I care about the Flyers and would like to see them become a legit contender before I die. All the fluff and infrastructure and facilities don't matter in that regard as a fan.
- MJL

wait .. you mean we fans cannot use the new gym facilities!?! I'm out!

Jett doesn’t have a size advantage over Morgan Frost after a freezing cold bath

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/nhl/flyers-jett-luchanko-could-make-the-team-in-2024-25/ar-AA1qBVGi?ocid=BingNewsSerp

Let’s say Luchanko theoretically makes the team. If he’s just a third-line center and not really productive, he’d probably be better off in the OHL. He has offensive talent, but he might lean on his defensive game more in the NHL, thus limiting his upside. The last thing you want is to put a player in a situation where they aren’t gaining anything—that’s the risk. I’m confident he could be a decent player with an average ice time somewhere in the mid-teens, but is that really better than being a top-line center in juniors? That’s for the Flyers to answer, and that’s assuming he shows out in the preseason.

benching Laughton is funny. Especially if it ever happened.

- hello it's me 2050

That would be a incredibly unwise decision if the flyers didn’t send him back to his jr team.

Without billionaire owners there would be no football, or other professional sports, or cars, or phones, or computers, or electricity, or gas, or TV’s, or online mega retailers, or places to work and many other things. Instead of hating people who work hard, have good ideas, and make money because of it, maybe you should be thankful you have access to things that their hard work provides.

Certainly the last people I am worried about is a bunch of people who make millions every year for playing a child's game that don’t have a clock.

This is one of the strangest posts I've seen here. 😂

Literally all of those things would exist and were invented or discovered by people who were not billionaires. All of those things existed and would exist without billionaire involvement.

Was he a dominant force in either game?

Let’s see how he performs against NHL and/or high end AHL guys.

Some put way too much emphasis whether good or bad on these low level rookie games.

Less than a month ago, Luchanko was 17 years old. At his age, I'm not sure if I want to give him a taste of Wilson, Popisil, Zadorov, Dillon, etc, during the first 9 games.
- 77rams

This! He may be sturdy for his age but he's still going to be hit by savages. And as fast as he flies out there on the ice it does scare me a little if he runs into a barbashev or zadorov type stone wall body

A friend that’s a scout talked with him before draft and said he was bigger than he thought…17 at the time, he has a mature body and we all see the speed and skill. I thought the pick was a slight reach, but you have to trust the scouts. If he earns a little look to start the season….SO BE IT. I think it will be good for him to play in the O this year….let him have that chance to dominate and grow with kids his own age.
I was really impressed with his game Friday night.

That does matter….I mean the kid didn’t turn 18 until August….hopefully he continues to develop. I would have taken Buium…but it would hardly be the first time I was wrong about a draft pick….I know he left me with a favourable impression so far.
