I was away for the weekend and only saw a few of the highlights from the rookie games. From what I gleaned and some comments from Bill on the last blog, MM looked pretty solid vs the rookie roster am I correct? - Hextall271
He was as advertised in the game he played for sure, and then some. |

I didn't think that was the deal. The Oilers were going to use the LTIR space from Kane to add Risto.
Edit: Kane also has a NMC. |

yeah maybe I read that wrong, that would be much more ideal. there are those who say risto is not moveable and I would be thrilled if the oil take him off our hands. would be hard to complain about our d core blocking youth.

why is kane waiving his no trade clause to come to philly? assuming the flyers are on his blocked list.
also, edmonton will need or want cap space. why would they want an overpaid 3rd pair dman? will be better options available later. |

If the Flyers could move on from Risto even with 50% retained I would be very happy. In the end, I think the Oilers will get a player with less term and more skill before they take on a Risto type player.

risto just seems to be the type of player that other gms still think has some value, especially at 50% retained. months ago EF reported two of the teams interested in Risto were Vancouver and Toronto. i'm happy to retain in order to open up that spot for someone like Andrae.

RR makes zero sense for the oilers. Or any contending team really with that contract. Even 50% dont see a team wanting that risk with the term he has left. |

Thought MM looked fine but in no way did he stand out where you would say WOW..especially against a rookie team. Really wished he had played game 2 |

Me too as long as they do not need to add an asset to move him.

Friedman says the flyers set an asking price of a 2nd rd pick for kolosov though still working to get it resolved. |

I want more info on this one. my initial thought was a total screw up by the flyers
I don't by the homesick angle. If that really is the case the oh well not much you can do. Seems there is more to the story. Both parties are probably at fault. |

Sid signs 2 years at 8.7
What a dream scenario he has been for Pittsburgh. Not only the best, or near best player in the league for the entirety of his career, but to have him for 8.7 million a year in perpetuity. Giving Pittsburgh the ability to put a great team around him for years and years. |
