So his grieving stopped in September. You don't know how he was effected, something could have triggered something and regressed.
I do remember Hayes lack of D that season.

See if you can follow. Up until the all star selections were announced. Hayes had 35 points in 38 games. With his weight of his brother passing already on him. Then Tortorella decided to demote him in the lineup and cut his ice time. His production took a dive. You're telling me that it was the result of his brother passing? It all of a sudden hit him? |

That would be a solid season. I am not concerned about the AAV as much as the term. 4 years or less and probably $5ish million per? That would be close to the going rate for a 50 pt center?

Frost has already had seasons in the 40+ point range. I want to see more consistent scoring and for him to get in the 55 point range. That's solid 2nd line center level.

I think if Torts leaves him alone on the second line he will get to 50 points. Or if he just leaves him alone period.

I would just like to see him increase his career high by more than 4 points.

More ignorance. Frost was taken late in the first round. Look up the historical data of players taken in the late first round and what they historically become.
By the way, Jett Luchanko, whom the Flyers took with the 13th overall pick. Is not projected to be a star player. - MJL
That will change after his +1 season, mark it down. |

As I posted earlier, the effect that Tortorella has had is instilling team structure and playing Konecny on the PP. Most talented players, all they need is opportunity. It's what Tippett needed after coming over from Florida. Tortorella demands work ethic but Konecny already had that. Konecny has matured and he was going to take these steps at that point, regardless of who the coach was in my opinion. Frost, despite Tortorella's biases against him has shown to be a solid all around player who most of all, just needs opportunity and for Tortorella to stop screwing with him. Give him that opportunity and see what happens. If that is done, then it is all on Frost. - MJL Does Frost play on the PP? Does he play under the same structure that TK plays under? Just asking for a friend. I honestly don't know what you mean by Frost not getting an opportunity? TK was given the opportunity, and he took it and ran with it! Frost has been given the same opportunity on the PP and under the same team structure, and he has fumbled the ball many times IMO. See how that works? What is good for the goose is good for the gander. |

TK is a legimate all star in this league IMO. Frost was never projected to be a star??
So in your opinion the Flyers traded a legitmate NHL forward in Brayden Schenn, who is now captain of the Blues and a cup winner, and took on the contract of a bad Jori Lehtera to move up to select Frost, and they did this to get a player that they never projected to be a star player???
- jd250
Are all first round picks supposed to be a star? How many starts are drafter 27th or later?
answer - a few and they are far between |

At least 70 points would suffice if you really want to be considered a contender. I think 50 points is ideal for a third line center which is basically what Frost is.

Frost wasn't even in the picture at the time. They traded for the 2 1st-round picks which was a nice haul for a guy who they gave every chance to succeed but were beginning to feel like would never reach his potential. Could argue that Schenn still never reached his career potential. At one point he was considered a future superstar, best prospect in the world, etc.
Frost has actually been very solid for a 27th-overall pick. - Tomahawk
IMO, Frost is at the level I would expect anywhere from the late first round to 3rd round, depending on the draft year. My point is why trade up at all. Yes they got anothe 1st round pick, but they got that pick in a weak draft, not a deep draft. Schenn never reached his projected potential, true, but even today he is a better forward than Frost. The Flyers didn't win that trade. |

true, Frost should get over 50pts if he is playing with two good wingers like Tippet and Foerster for example. |

“Why isn’t Frost out there for OT!?”
coughs up an easy pass, turns it over and ends up in the back of his net.
“Oh yeah..”
He gets opportunities. He blew it.
The biggest knock on him is his body language. He’d be a great AHL player though 😂 |

He seems perfectly content with just blending in and that’s simply not good enough. |

I am seeing tons of "If Ristolainen is traded to the Oilers".
I'm not sure who kicked off this rumor, but...
If the Flyers did trade him, that opens a spot for a younger player, but what would the D look like?
York-Sanheim
Seeler-Drysdale
Zamula-????
I don't like any of those pairings. I doubt Bonk will be ready so I am thinking Andrae or Ginning or Attard...None I would want in the top 4 right now unless they blow up in preseason.
Who would play? - Glak18
If we are in a rebuilding year, and the goal is a high draft pick, then its good a good thing that you dont like any of the pairings. Or do you want to make the playoffs this year, and scrap the high pick?

Maybe, maybe not but you're out of context. You asked the question that the Flyers didn't draft Frost at 27th to be a star. Luchenko was not projected to be a star WHEN the Flyers drafted him at 13

Frost has not been given the same opportunity that Konecny has. What are you talking about? Your frequent use of "see how that works" is hysterical. Makes you look like an idiot.

IIRC they didn't trade up to take Frost. You might be thinking of Ratcliffe.
2017 1sts were Patrick at #2 (via draft lottery) and Frost at Washington's #27 (which STL got in the Shattenkirk deal). The other 1st in the deal was 2018 #14 (Farabee) |

Name me 5 teams that have a 3rd line center that scored 50 points?
Last season, there were only 51 centers that scored 50 or more points. There are 32 teams in the league. Scoring 55 points last year as a center would've ranked 53rd in then league. Putting a player in solid 2nd line center production.

Oops I didn't realize the Flyers took my opinion seriously...
Yes, Overlords of the Flyers I would like a high end center...either Hagens or Frondell will suffice. Please forgive me for not liking the pairings you provide for me!
I swear to Gritty I shall always be tha A-Hole that constantly posts about the Flyers needing an elite center over and over and over and over....and over. I shall not partake in the blasphemy of our savior Allah Torts and the Rise of the Frost.
