Bergevin needed to make trades BECAUSE his draft picks were bad, he had to keep plugging holes in the lineup to keep the boat afloat. There was no long term vision.

When he left, very few players in our lineup had been drafted and developed in-house.

I had to go to the office 5 days a week for 33 years in all kinds of weather and with horrible traffic jams.

You guys are lucky ... good for you, I'm not even jealous.

i got lucky and bought a house 15 minutes from work so it's not a big deal but working from home still felt better although it made doing the job tougher.

i don't mind being back in the office so much because it's really sitting in traffic that bothers me and now i just take a short little drive. growing up, everywhere that was worth working was at least a 45 minute drive on dreaded rt 295. that was what i didn't like.

High voltage electricity doesn't mess around. It's already easy enough to get electrocuted even when you're careful around it.

I live in Gatineau and had to cross bridges because I worked in Ottawa ... traffic jams were horrendous when weather was bad (ie. snow storms).

I've been retired for about 10 years now ... commuting to work is like a bad dream from a prior life.

Indeed, he has done a great job so far ... excellent management of assets (ie. getting two 1st round picks for Monahan)

If we compare where we were 2 years ago and now, we actually have some interesting assets in our cupboard, we also have a poop ton of draft picks in 2025 (9 picks in the first 4 rounds).

These are things we never had under the Bergevin/Timmins regime ... granted we had to tank to get those but it beats being a bubble team forever.

- Garfield512

Gonna be honest, I have not been this confident in management since the 70s or remember having a pool or real viable prospects, rather than c or d grade guys that you prayed would at least be able to play on the 3rd line / 3rd pair.

That is what has given me an excitement level about the Habs I have not had since the 80s (maybe early 90s).
