I don't know if that would be ideal asset management, there's probably a better way. besides Kapanen is 21 and it's been 1 pre-season game, he needs to continue proving himself, we'll see. - Pat1993
Kapanen playing another year in Europe is not the end of the world.
I would keep Kapanen for 9 games at the start of season, let him feel the nhl speed and send him back to sweden for 1 season where he will have an expanded role. I think we can all see he has the tools (anticipation, positionning, etc) to become a nhl player sooner than later.
I need to say this: Hutson is amazing. Not only in the offensive zone. Okay, he wont be the guy cleaning the blue paint on the pk, but he was getting at the puck first in the d zone and sending it out at high speed with his ability to make quick décision and to find créative outlet passes. Like the opposite of Barron.
Those second and third picks seem good so far. I'm getting excited and I bought a year pass to the optobus.

I wonder if the other way around is any better...

My underling at work just brought these in. We're all going to have them at lunch as some kind of satanic (I assume) ritual of diarrhea. They're smelling up the office.

Kapanen was excellent last night and he really opened my eyes ... but we have to remember that we fans have only seen a short sample of him so far (last night was pretty much against an AHL team).
This being said, I really like his skills and vision on the ice.
I'm sure Marty will do what's best for the team. - Garfield512
I think they want to test Newhook in the top 6, and if that is the case, they will need Dvorak to anchor the 3rd line.
So unless plans change, I do not expect Dvorak to be dealt soon, not do I expect to see Kapanen in a Habs uniform this year.

for sure. I don't have a problem with that either, unless Kapanen keeps impressing the coaching staff and management to the point where they're basically forced to keep because he's so good, but I'm not sure that's gonna happen.

I'm also really impressed with him, every time he's on the ice he's making something happen, and he's also very effective defensively despite his size. very special player.

Yep, the more I see him the more impressed I am.
I'm second guessing myself now as to why they would send him to Laval, the kid is something special.

still early for Kapanen, only 1 preseason game, but yes impressive. if he keeps improving and proves he deserves to stay they'll find a way. and that won't be by sending Dvorak to Laval.
