William Nylander on starting at centre again:
"Iām excited. I told Chief that the most important thing is I canāt just play one game if you want to try centre. We agree on that ..."
Why was experiment so short last year?
"I donāt know. Youāll have to ask my old coach (smile)" |

I'll poop if Willy looks mediocre at center for a few games, but then he finally clicks and tears poop up while putting up career numbers.
Weirder poop has happened.

Shana- Scam "Run it Back....FOREVER."
These dudes have ossified, risk-averse brains which cannot fathom any possibilities besides the old ones.
PREDICTION: Marner will get 4m more than Kucherov, 2m more than Pastrnak, 5m more than JT Miller....and Leafs media will call it a "bargain".
Iām telling you Leaf fans are absolutely the best manā¦ they make raider and cowboy fan look like pikersā¦šššš |

Sorry for the late reply but I just got my yardwork done.
Who did you think was returning to the AHL? Neither Minten or Cowan has played there yet. Minten got 4 games last year, 0 points, and was sent back to the WHL since he was too young for the AHL. As for Cowan heās either a leaf or a knight this year because heās too young for the AHL. Itās why I think people are dreaming when it comes Cowan, he either proves heās good and reliable enough to be a leaf for the year or heāll be back in the OHL. My guess is Iāll be watching him here in London, teams that consider themselves cup contenders donāt play teenaged rookies with zero pro experience often, and as for āoftenā I mean āhardly everā. |

I'm cheerleading for Cowan, but I know he has no realistic shot at staying this season. Realistically, I hope the kid plays lights out for 9 games before being sent back down to come back next season and stay for good.

Minten reminds me of Clifford but in a different way. He plays an NHL style game, but just ok (now). Clifford could play NHL games and fight at 18/19. Minten can probably play some games now at 19/20, but is it worth it as a 4th liner? |

Kucherov: $9.5 million on a 37% tax rate = $5.985 million take home
Pastrnak: $11.25 million on a 46% tax rate = $6.075 million take home
Miller: $8 million on a 53.5% tax rate = $3.72 million take home
Please note Miller only started thriving and being more than an average 40P guy when put on Vancouverās top line. He is also 31 not 27.
Two things. Thinking Marner gets what Matthews gets is absurd as hellā¦ at best heāll land $12.5 million, which would give him a take home of $5,808,750. So yeah, other than the 31 year old Miller Marnerās take home will be most likely less than the first two you mentioned.
Cheers.

Yeah so long as they can make his contract work with the leafs without risking losing someone Iām all for this. However if keeping him risks losing someone else it wonāt be worth it. |

That and Minten is not playing for the leafs this year now that he has a high ankle sprain. Heāll take forever to recover and then spend the rest of the year with the marlies unless the leafs are poopting the bed badly this season. |

Gotta weird feeling about this A Nylander situation. Think he might of had a partying situation or some off ice issue that he had shake off and needed his brother to kinda babysit and keep him busy and focused.
Toronto then agreed to the AHL deal and maybe if he passed a few drug tests and performed well...NHL contract. Something is up and ANylander is a much better player than he is getting credit for...or has the potential to be. Having his older brother to guide him good be a great thing for the Leafs.
If that is the case, Robertson is gonna need to step up or him and Lily are gone (Lily due to money and Hawktuah).
I think we could see this...
Knies, Matthews, Domi
A.Nylander, Nylander, Marner
Patches, Tavares, Jarnkrok
McMann, Kampf, Lorentz/Reaves
OR
Knies, Matthews, Domi
Patches Nylander, Marner
Robertson, Tavares, Jarnkrok
McMann, Kampf, Lorentz/Reaves
Reilly, Tanev
Benoit, McCabe
OEL, Hakanpaa
Woll/Stolarz
Murray
And I like it! GLG |

I spoke a bit blurry there my apologies. I wasnāt attacking you I was just trying to say there are so many people who cannot grasp the taxation difference. Theyāre also the type that think players sign with the teams they want to play for and their cap hit means more than their take home. Itās a job folks, for the massive majority of players what they get to take home matters more than their cap hit.
I just wish the league would change the cap to take home amounts, they donāt want Canadian teams to have the advantage tho, itās pretty obvious. |
