Not without any PP time he won't.
- dbot
He was fairly close without it...
He very well might get some 2nd unit time. It's the next step for him you'd think.

Not necessarily, he averaged 12:06 in ice-time without it. If he earns two or three more even strength minutes he’ll get there. Or if he plays more with a world class center like Pettersson. |

Guys, Hoglander shot 20% last year. Expecting him to score MORE is crazy |

I don't know about "crazy", but you bring up a very valid point. Maybe 20-25 is more realistic, but 30 is not out of the question imo.
Boeser was the NHL's only 30 goal scorer who never scored 30, and then he scored 40...you never know. |

Hog's role is expected to expand this season, hopefully that translates into a more offensive role instead of 4th line minutes. If he gets to stay on the wing with Pouty and DeBrusk, he'll definitely see an increase in production.
He's got a motor, solid shot, and has been a standout in camp so fingers crossed!

Shooting percentage dip + straight up shooting more could equal more goals. Expecting is a bit much, but it's not improbable he does score more. Especially if he gets some solid PP2 time and they can actually pot a few. |

Hogs will play a vital role this season on a line. But given what the top pairs of: JTM/Boeser and Petey/Debrusk, need in complimentary size, speed and shot; it doesn’t look good for Hogs. |

The way RT has spoken about Hogs, all be it in a positive way, and deployed he’s not disappointing. Definitely expected to be a starter. Though expanded role is up in the air. Lots to prove out in the exhibition games. |

Report from Kevin Woodly that Demko’s injury is to the popliteus muscle. A major stabilizing muscle deep inside the back of the knee. Recovery time can take 2-16 weeks of what little is known.
So maybe that time line takes Demko into late October for a return. At least not an all or half season type. |

He should just take the rest of the year off and let it rest, come back in January, if he can. |

I'd wait until after the TDL, still more than enough games to get him ready for the playoffs and if we're not in contention, you can shut him down for the rest of the season and re-evaluate in the off-season whether to trade him or keep him. |

He's a UFA in 2 years, based on his injury history he's not putting himself in a good position.

I disagree. Hog's a legitimate NHLer. His stats are good:
221 games played
50 goals
40 assists
90 points
+9
97 PIMS
And that's with only 13:13 in average TOI. I think he's a bit underrated. You say "lots to prove". Again, I disagree. Who's his competition, Daniel Sprong? PDG? I think the canucks know exactly what they have with Hog's. He was never "blue chip" but he's turning out to be a solid 2nd round draft pick.

No doubt Hogs is an NHLer. The expanded role is not yet defined. It’s more about fit than competition.
Sprong being a right shot has an advantage as well as his rush and speed game. But Hogs has elements like Debrusk he’s not going to beat out him for that role.
Then there is Heinan. Does Hogs bring the same speed Hienan does for JTM and Boeser?
So yes Hogs is a great player that can score and is a buzzsaw. We just don’t know yet how RT will see his puzzle pieces fit. |

That may happen. We have no timeline. Though Demko is a push hard competitor so he will be wanting to come back sooner then later. How the Canucks manage that is yet to be played out. May also depend on what Silovs and Lakenin do filling in. |
