Shakir could set a NFL Record against Baltimore if he Catches his next pass. Guess he's tied with Michael Thomas for most Receptions in a row without a incomplete pass thrown to him. |

Thoughts on the game:
The good:
-Wahlberg is going to be a beast, can't wait for him to make the jump
-Novikov is the real deal, not just that sweet shot yesterday, but defense was on point...needs to watch out on the clutching/grabbing. Got pulled into that interference call.
-Ratzlaff has great movement and reactions, might have an NHL caliber tender there.
-Rosen made some good plays
The bad:
-Rosen made some bad plays too
-Helenius just looks like any other player out there, nothing stands out about his game
-Ostlund had a lot of giveaways
-No one can win a faceoff we lost 38, won 15 yesterday, wooooof
-The Houser experiment is still ongoing
-Thought RyJo had a rare off game, just wasn't seeing the ice well it seemed

Not only is Benson older this year but Paul Hamilton has reported he might be taller too |

Slots in well next year, when Joker is gone. Could be that simple. He could use some more AHL time.
Little surprised they left him and took Clague, not that either would play. - Lunaion
They love Clague. Good team guy and works hard.
But good point about Ryan Johnson. I like his puck moving ability and skating. He fits in with what Dahlin and Byram bring.
Like watching Clifton (the game that was on msg) against AHL players. He still couldn’t hit a breakout pass |

That was a good hit. Should've qualified that, he actually had a few decent hits. For a smaller player, he's not afraid to engage which is a good thing.
So many folks wanted to say he had a chance to make the team, I was just expecting a more well rounded game. His passing and ability to see the ice is too slow still. I'm hoping they bring in him over and stash him in the A, personally. Or is that rushing him? |

I believe that is the goal this year. I think it'd be best.
I think he just needs to get used to the smaller ice, tighter game, different systems. One of the reasons I really liked him is that he isn't afraid to get dirty in the corners, or get physical.

No it isn't rushing him IMO, he has already played against men, but has yet to play on a smaller ice surface in NA.
Many Euro's need time to get used to the smaller surface, and the impact on playing with less time and space.
Best thing for him is spend a season down on the farm and finding his game here... Then making the jump. |

Clague brings a little jam if the game gets chippy
IMO that it why he is a reserve on this trip instead of johnson |

To be objective, you have to factor in what he doesn't bring, and that's any physical presence. He had 8 hits in 41 games. Where does a finesse LH puck mover fit on a team that has 3 excellent ones already? Don't think that's in the top 4. Johnson-Clifton sounds fine next year.
