Whom was available ? Ehlers (if even really available) was heard to be costing 3-4 first rounders or the equivalent of. And that's without an Extention . - DirtyDan
laine was given away for nothing
chicken man for next to nothing
guentzel
sergachev
hanifin
etc
we instead over pay for guys like mcleod and malenstyn in trades
throw stupid money at zucker and hope Aube-Kubel and Lafferty become the new Hannan and Presley
we aim for the 8th seed and slow play it instead of swinging for the fence, year after year
we have 7 mil in cap space, so that excuse can go out the window

tuch has played 199 games for the sabres and has 176 points on a team that stinks
not sure what more he can do on the ice to win people over that he is a first liner
now when his next contract starts, he will probably be paid for a first line winger and regress to second line numbers - homiedclown
He is good... Low level 1st or higher end 2nd.
He'll be 30 when his next contract begins.
Unless he signs a 3 year deal at that point, trade him because they will then be paying for past not future results.
Adams needs to learn they are assets, not friends. Maybe talk to Brisbois about how he could let his captain go.

What small market signed a star this year? - DirtyDan
Nashville got Stammer, Marchy and Skjei
Columbus got Monahan
New Jersey got Pesce
Sharks got Toffoli
Seattle got Montour and Stephenson
Washington got Roy
Outside Stammer, none are super high end, but I think star quality for most. I think Homie has a valid point here. From Johnny Gaudreau to Scott Stevens, big names have signed for small market teams in the past.
