They have no more high-end talent coming through the prospects, and they don't have enough truly high-end talent in the Forward group. D and G should be relatively ok with more development time.
Their F prospects are all middle six. I've been calling for a trade package to address that. It can anddoes happen, but our GM doesn't have the skills to make and close those kind of deals.
Savoie is likely to be a 3RW on a contender and they got a decent 3C for him to fill a position of need now. People piss and moan about this trade 2hich is again much ado about nothing...and I was excited to see him develop.
No, they can't use all their prospects, so yes I displeased with that as I believe a creative GM could put together a strong package to acquire a very, very good player. - IonSabres
McLoud addresses the needs now. Savoie was another undersized forward prospect likely not ready for another 2 years.
Easy math
I really like McLouds speed. He and Cozens will be annoying to play against on the PK

You guys are incredible with moving the goal posts.
He isn't a 9 anymore is what I have been told. He was a dilapidated former first whose value was significantly depreciated and further eroded by injury history and not being able to make the WJT.
He only suck as a prospect here, yet is hailed as the 2nd Coming once traded.
I love the kid, wish him the absolute best and was/is OK with the trade.
Moving on now, he isn't ours anymore.
The '25 and '26 1st have supreme trade value
Embrace the McLeod! - IonSabres
What goal post has moved? I'm very much in your court, in that I wanted to see a package deal for a top 6/top 4 for years. I know that draft picks generally lose value, that's why the waiting and mismanagement bothers me so much.

Another note
Speculative forward prospects don’t seem to command the trade value they might have pre pandemic.
If we want a top 6 guy, teams will want something that addresses their needs now.
Joker, maybe Greenway plus Kulich or Rosen plus high draft pick |

Joker and Greenway in their final seasons don't hold much trade value either. They'd have a little deadline rental value, but we aren't there.

I know we haven’t played a real game yet but the glaring “who doesn’t fit” so far is Greenway. We got much faster and he really stands out even more now. He looked lost against a 4th tier league team |

Any GM could have made this happen. He chose to sign Zucker to a 1 year deal instead |

I’ll admit, I’m prejudice against slow, unskilled AHL players elevated to top 9 nhl roles.
Guilty as charged |

Komarov or Novikov are going to have to show well filling in for an injury before they factor in. There's no rush on either and they are good depth to have.
I don't think they love Johnson, but if he's not the guy next season, I think they make an addition.

Starting to think that as well. They won’t even give him a shot with the Sabres and banned him to roch |

What top 6 player are we are getting for Joker, maybe Greenway plus Kulich or Rosen plus high draft pick?
If those players stated above were on some else's team (and that package was offered to the Sabres) who in the Sabres top 6 are you sending for that? That package probably gets you a a slightly younger Zucker who has some term on his contract. |

Shout out to Buff36...
Flyers waived Attard, we did talk about him early in the summer. Torts said he's not seeing the ice or reading plays good enough. |

Greenway and Krebs have been replaced multiple times this summer
Still don’t get why greenway is on the 3rd line right now. |

Besides Laine. Did any other top 6 forward even get moved? |

Teams with depth have potential
Top 6 in the middle of their lineup who could step into a top 6 role with us
This is more what we would have to target. No one is parting with an Ehlers type unless we give a huge piece back.
Someone just said a younger Zucker type with term. That’s a good starting point |

Looks like Benson is grabbing the 2nd line wing hole we had, so 3rd line wing becomes the new hole. Don't see any great fits right now, can Kulich eventually grab that spot or is he a bad fit/not ready? Looks like for the time being its the usual suspects Greenway and Krebs. |

Just think the reality of this schedule means no one was given a shot and they came in with their roster set.
D always get hurt. If they prefer Bryson playing for a significant period, that'll tell us something.

is rosen, ryan johnson, krebs and greenway considered trash for ehlers
if that is the case, our prospects are no as good as we hyped them up to be |

You're picking the most expendable parts, not anything that hurts to give up.
Sell low (or just let them walk) on guys who don't fit does feel like Kev's plan. |

It was said a slightly younger Zucker with term which means 30 years old, not 25 years old, and for the past 3 or 4 years he's pretty much a 3rd line player (that has had injury issues). He's a UFA signing type player, not a really good starting point for a trade. I suggest we trade better players like Sammy + Krebs to try and get a player like Farabee or add them a propsect + high draft pick to try and land someone like Zegras (although I expect the Ducks would want Benson rather than Sammy which hurts). |
