If he come in next year and looks stronger with more weight on and shows he can handle games vs something closer to real nhl rosters, then consider it. I see no shame in him not starting with the big club a couple years from now.
Interesting that we signed that tender makiniemi. This really closes the door on kolosov this season I would think and the terrible play of Petersen really forced their hand I’d say. All that kolosov had to do was come in, start in the an and wait for an injury with feds or sam and he’d have gotten his shot. Really blew it imo. - Hextall271
the door is still open for him to return imo. up to him obviously.

And Bedard isn't Luchanko. Luchanko is apparently a gym rat and he scored among the highest in many fitness tests. The next Brindy is upon us!!

I think it’s still too early in camp….he’s played “one” game lol. Let’s let it play out. If the kid earns a longer look ….so be it. I still think he will be returned to Guelph. Physically he’s closer to handling it than most “just turned 18 year olds” but I also think mentally although appearing to be a mature kid is a tough sell. Let him eventually make his way back to Jr and hopefully have another outstanding season. I will say after watching a few of his games I’ve figured out why scouts scout and guys like me female dog and moan about their choices…I think they got a good one.
I don't think that closes the door on Kolosov. - MJL
So you think he'll change his mind and come over, then we'd release Eetu? My point is that it does not appear to me that he has any intent of coming over at all.
You can ask a question any way you want and put limits on it but I'm not bound by that. Apparently you don't know what is meant by Luchanko is not Bedard. If you understood that, you would know there was no deflection. - MJL
Apparently you don’t stand by your blanket statement that an 18 year old isn’t physically mature enough to play in the NHL, nor the term “deflection”

I think at the very least it means they don't expect him to come over any time soon. I wonder how long they can toll his contract? Can they terminate it if he decides he never wants to come over?

Agreed…it just pushes him down in the pecking order in the present. We all know that can change pretty quickly at that position.

Yeah, I agree. I'm just going a bit over the top to get a rise out of a few folks on here. I see no harm in keeping him for a 9 game trial just to get his feet wet, but I also would have no problem if they send him back to junior tomorrow. I'm just happy that he may have actually been a legit pick that can fill a need that this team badly needs!

You’re not giving the same respect you’re demanding. I don’t think Luchanko makes the team. My point as argued, I don’t think where Luchanko plays in October matters and no way shape or form hurts him when sent down.

They don’t have to terminate at all….toll his contract (while not paying him obviously) and he remains an asset. There is no limit to how long they actually will hold his rights. That’s what is puzzling about this. The kid has “zero” leverage to play in the NHL without the Flyers having all the control.

It is very strange to me. He must have had a horrible experience last year in LHV and doesn't want to ride the bus anymore or something. Very curious.

no just move on from Cal imo. echl or loan him out.
he is a sunk cost cap and money wise. can they just flat out release him and pay him his money?
if he isn't playing and getting paid he may change his mind. much more to this story imo.

You just never know what actually is behind it. Kids holding a golden ticket to be one step, one injury, one slumping goalie away from being in the best league in the world.

Nuance escapes some. Rigidity of thought sometimes prevails. The need to be right instead of evolving a conversation, to some, is what’s most important.

My statement is that Luchanko is not ready to play full time in the NHL and not being fully physically mature is one reason why. I think you have a reading comprehension issue.
As far as Bedard is concerned. His ability to make plays and put up points at the NHL level. Almost a point per game player on a bad team, as an 18 year old, is enough to overcome any issues with not being physically mature. Luchanko does not possess that same ability as an 18 year old in my opinion. It's not a deflection. It's simply assuming that the above concerning Bedard, did not need to be explained. I guess I got that wrong.

Nuance is needed with the comment of Luchanko is not Bedard? The comment is pretty self explanatory.
Just for fun: all you guys talking about the need to preserve our European culture, and you musicians here, and everyone else: what is the piano movement playing in the background at the beginning of this Petyon Manning ad?
Can we make it a rule that a post can't be multiple paragraphs? Multiple pages are just 4 or 5 posts. Each post had a multiple paragraph reply along with the multiple original post. - WhiskeyMan

I hope the Flyers don't terminate the contract nor toll it. I want them to make an example of Kolosov and stop him from ever playing a game in the NHL.

I don't think it had anything to do with the experience. Kolosov clearly does not want to play in the AHL and ride buses. He wants a direct ticket to the NHL. Well, it does not work that way and honestly he should know better as a goalie.

Stop and think for a minute how ridiculous that is. He is a 22 year old kid who has made a bad decision for whatever reason. You want to ruin his life for it. You need to grow up.

Not a single person is advocating for Jett to be a full time nhl player this season. We are talking about 9 games
