How many players besides Crosby sign for the same amount? I thing he will be offered 3 million, Laughtons contract

he def has a path on the surface. - hello it's me 2050
He sure does. Beat out Cal Peterson for the starting role with the Phantoms. One of Ersson or Fedotov get hurt. Two steps that seem almost 100% likely.

Kolosov should be like, wtf did I not just not show up and win the job? Ill be the NHL starter by January with these clowns.
- MBFlyersfan
Kolosov can come over right now, honor his contract, and win the starting job for the phantoms. But apparently he feels that is beneath him. He can sit and rot in the KHL for all I care. I hope the Flyers stick it to him so he never plays an NHL game. That will be a lesson to him and any other player that thinks they are bigger than the game. |

I am not saying he won't ask or possibly sign for more. Why would the Flyers offer or sign him for more? What has he improved on since his rookie year? He is not a center anymore and he primarily plays on the 4th line.

if he plays 4th line all year then that is 100% a mistake to re-sign him. they will however. Cant be paying 4th line players that kind of coin.
They already have over 6 million tied up on their 4th line. As a non playoff team that is a joke.
Cates- Laughton- RP- GH. That is overkill. |

why do you always project just one side of the story? always trying to make the flyers look in the right and speculating about the player. |

That's how I see it. Or if say Feds struggles and needs some AHL time, then there's your path kid.
I noted that TK hasn't played either of the first two games. I think someone mentioned this before. Is he banged up?

I do not doubt he gets a new contract. Just not sure you need to lock into a 4th line winger for close to $3mil per year. Torts likes him though. That is a feather in his cap for sure.

Montreal entered the O zone with relative ease. Flyers continued their boring dump and chase that has been their signature for the past five decades. Only problem is they are not fast enough to chase. SC and SL were invisible, and ND was -3 so we are in mid-season form. The Flyers could not keep up with Montreal..... - mr4tno Flyers actually play a speed game these days - the old slow dump and chase has not been a large part of their game in yrs. Obviously, last night was a shyt show, but my largest takeaway is just how much of a genius Peterson's agent is. |

does he have a clause saying if he gets sent down he can go back to russia? mm does though he may as well though not sure.
wouldn't that look good if he struggles and danny wasted 3.5 per for 2 years. |

There are no guarantees with their starting goalies this year. Kolosov is not going to find too many more better options for him than coming to the Flyers in camp this season.

It's far from a lock that he will be a good NHL backup. Lot of adjustments needed to be made over the summer.

I haven't heard that he has such a clause. I don't expect him to struggle, it was a hypothetical. I am hoping that he can at least serve as a competent backup to Sam and at best split with him. To answer your question, it would not be a good look, but the Hart situation certainly forced his hand there I'd say as he needed two competent NHL tenders (expecting that Feds is capable of that) |

the top 2 spots on the flyers are taken by sam and the ivan to start the year. nothing performance wise is/was going to change that.
that is a stone cold fact. |

yep and since it was only a 2 year deal it wont kill you long term if he sucks. 3.5 was an incredible overpay however. |

In my mind if I see that he is not improving, maybe try to trade him for something.
But knowing the Flyers, they will still resign him, maybe a 1 year prove myself deal.
If Torts comes back as the coach he definitely, he is a Torts favorite I believe.

He is really missing an easy chance to be in the NHL this season. What a bozo. - mickel25
Maybe an easy chance to play some games in the NHL but to be in the NHL full time. Not unless there is a significant injury to Ersson or Fedotov.

I do not know what to expect from him. Sam still hasnt shown he is nothing more than a backup.
I see split city to an extent (sam the incumbent coming in) depending upon performance obviously . |

3 million next season won't be a bad number with the Salary cap going up. The bigger question is what do they do with Laughton. |

There is no such clause that can be installed in an ELC or any SPC that I'm aware of. Once a player is signed, it is the teams control on where the player plays, who he is loaned to, etc.
