What makes more sense, they overpaid him in a short period since they had prior conversations on what would make sense for him to stay here or because they are in love with him…make it make sense Cliff |

We'll see who gets the majority of the starts, Ersson or Fedotov. I wouldn't claim to know right now who that will be. |

I don't see him getting a big raise - WhiskeyMan
I honestly wouldnt be surprised if the Flyers moved him. If Lyksell earns a spot Cates or Deslaurier are on the outside looking in. I feel like Deslaurier would keep the 13 fwd position and Cates would be moved. If Flyers do keep him, I dont see him getting a raise at all, I see him making less to be honest

what other players that teams are in love with get only 2 year deals?
if they love him and he pans out wouldn't it cost the more down the line? so why not a 5 year deal if they love him? wouldn't a smart ream lock a player they love long term?

Signing him to the cap hit that they did shows that he is not coming to compete for a spot but that he has a spot on the roster. They are completely committed to him for the next two years as a goaltender on the Flyers roster. With a legit chance to be the starter or at least a 1A/1B situation. In the context of the conversation, which you apparently aren't following well. That does not point to a spot on the Flyers roster that Kolosov can come over and compete for currently. Hence the cliche of the Flyers are "in love" with him that another poster used. As usual, you're an idiot. Use all of the childish names you want. You don't even have the intelligence to come up with your own insults.

Ollie isn't earning a spot. There is no place for him in the top 12 at this time. They will not play him on the 4th line over Cates no matter what.

I agree, both are locks for the roster, barring injury but who will be the starter, is up for grabs. Could also be a 1A/1B situation.

😂 they really love this guy. They are still putting a team together, the goaltending question is a question mark, they were able to over pay in the short term to keep this guy around and see what he has. |

None of that shows they are in love with him which is what you said.
they are also not committed to him for 2 years. if he plays like crap and shows he isn't capable they will move on from him. |

I wrote last night that “nuance escapes you” - here you are parroting me again… I guess you’re not smart enough to come up with your own insults 😂
I want to reiterate - giving every AHL defensemen a roster spot is not “having them compete” for a spot - you have handed them a spot. Competition over. When will you learn?
If you want to move Risto you need to play him. Sticking him as the 7th defenseman, being paid what he is, and not giving him a chance to play so you can move him is flat out mismanagement - and you’d be crying about that too 😆
Have guys compete for a spot when there’s an injury. Play/trade Risto and have them compete for that spot. It’s not hard.
Your idea of “play all our AHL players and have them develop” is void of any thought or substance. Makes zero sense. |

I'll suspend for one moment, too much of an opportunity to pass up to reinforce what a fool you are. There is no statement that I have made that said, implies or suggests giving every AHL defenseman a roster spot. In fact I have not said to give any single AHL defenseman a roster spot.

You said they should all be playing over vets “to compete for a spot” - at that point you have handed them a spot - there’s no competition. Thats also a poor way to develop both those players and the team in general. You want 3 career AHLers to play instead of EJ, Risto and Seeler. Explain how they’d be for competing for the spots you’ve handed them in the name of “development?” 😂
Right now there’s a camp to steal a job and inevitable injuries that will require a call up. Play your butt off in LHV to get that call up and force the flyers to keep you there. Limited spots means show us how bad you want it.
You want everyone playing - then everyone’s got a spot, nice and comfy. Thats not a competition and certainly isn’t a good way to identify who will be an NHL regular

Your explanation was empty Cliff. They don’t have any goalies, they paid a guy with potential to stay here for a couple years and see what he has. If he stinks this season, he’s not guaranteed to play. This is the luxury you have when you are still building a team. They can overpay in the short term to look for a solution and you also have to factor in conversations that might have surrounded what would keep him in North America . Nothing to do with loving a guy. |

You are incorrect. In fact in my replies, I stated that York, Sanheim, Drysdale and SEELER are all locks for the top 4 barring injury.
You are a fool! Now back to status quo.

You don't pay an unproven goaltender a 3.25M cap hit to see what he has. They signed him to that money because they are very high on him. He is a lock for the roster. There is nobody to take his place. Petersen is not good and the potential Phantoms back up is on a ATO. In the context of the conversation, there is not an open spot for Kolosov to compete for in the NHL barring an injury. That is apparently why Kolosiv does not want to come over. You apparently can't grasp what "in love" with the guy meant as a cliche used by another poster.
