There is zero reason to give Luchanko a 9 game stint in the regular season. You only do that if you're on the fence about a player making the team. Luchanko just recently turned 18. The best thing for him to do is go back to juniors. Work on getting stronger and more mature physically. Work on getting stronger on his skates for the NHL game and work on his shot. Jerking a kid around can hurt a player and set him back. - MJL You are ALWAYS so conservative in your line of thinking.

maybe he's afraid frosty will get shown up
great motivator for frost having jett out there for 9 games. this 18 year old kid is outplaying you. find another level or this kid is gonna be nipping at your heels in no time. |

wrong. again.
show the kid what there is to work toward. staff said he's had a great camp. outskates a handful of players ahead of him. reward him with a cup of coffee. then send him back.
we are talking about 9 games. holy sh!t are you dense. "jerking him around" haha you're a riot - anti-lame
why would you put the in in the NHL too early and let his confidence get wrecked
let him grow a little playing 20ish mins a night on top line minutes will be better for him than being in the bottom 6 going against the grinders
the slower game of the juniors will help him develop |

Perfetti with a decent "show me" bridge contract.
So far Briere has been doing pretty good doing the same with Frost, York, Cates, Brink...he needs to continue it. Another one coming up with Foerster, but I expect depending on how Frost, York, Cates perform this year and whether they are here long term should be interesting. |

Conservative? No, my thinking is ALWAYS smart. What is there to gain by being aggressive in handling his development and rushing him into the NHL at 18 years of age? The kid has played one full season of major junior hockey. The kid is not ready for the NHL. |

because it's only 9 games lol. give him a taste if he came into camp prepared and worked hard. show the rest of the team you get rewarded for it. his confidence is not going to get wrecked in 9 games playing above his weight. if anything it will motivate this kid.
as long as you're sending him back regardless of how he played, 9 games is a nothing burger. |

he has a great camp. out plays several others. more than looks like he belongs. now you would have to put him in a position to succeed. do you trust the flyers to do that?
what kind of message does that send if he is sent back? is it about age or talent? |

I don't see harm in playing him for 9 games. Again, this is contingent on him lighting things up in the remainder of the preseason. |

You’re very narrow minded and only see it as going to a lower level of play. There is no point in conversing with you. - ClaudeFather
I’m narrow minded? When have you ever owned up to being wrong to anything? When have you ever met anyone in the middle in a discussion. All you ever do is give your opinion and tell everyone who disagrees with you how right you are…
Give me a break, you’re like half chick! |

They don't need to be "thick" at the center position this season. They have Couturier, Frost, Laughton and Poehling that can play center. Cates has also played center, although I don't like him there. There is a world of difference between the pre-season and the regular season. No reason to give him 9 games. He is not ready for the NHL yet. He needs to mature, improve in certain areas. The best place to do that, is back in juniors. Not in the NHL where he will be overwhelmed.

that is the easy part. lets see how he does with the long term focus. flyers tend to overpay in both money and term. |

you sound ridiculous. a 9 game look for Jett, assuming he gets sent back promptly, would not hurt anything. slow time adjusting? to the OHL? are you high?
you folks will literally whine about anything - anti-lame
could getting a taste of nhl life a detrimental effect initially when he goes back to juniors? |

has nothing to do whether they think he's ready to be an NHL regular. they don't think that. rewarding him with 9 games is perfectly reasonable.
meanwhile, Attard lays an egg in preseason and you scream "why isn't he getting a look?"

there centers are a joke overall. one of the worst in the league. a talent upgrade is needed
your opinion is always appreciated cliff. |

LeBrun is reporting that Shesterkin wants to reset the goalie market. Rangers offered 10.5 and that is not enough.
He will not negotiate once the puck drops. |

Again, what you can't seem to understand. Not just with Luchanko but with all players and hockey situations. The stats are data accumulated from playing the game on ice. Scouting reports and player evaluations are compiled from watching players play on the ice. Why is this so difficult for you to grasp? |
