Is this why Duclair has moved around so much? - ses111
Nope it was because he would not cut his hair.

The thing with Snow is he’s a likable guy. I’m sure he’s got some good bar stories. I realize he walked into a crappy situation with the isles but for this guy to be in that GM seat for all those years, was a travesty for us fans.
When asked about his future in hockey it was cringy listening to his long winded answer, when the answer is, no one’s calling him. He had Wangs ear and as a result kept his job for 12 unsuccessful years. - kindlyrick
I thought he was an arrogant, insecure, douche. |

Lineup looks great. Lets hope they stay healthy. 4th line will be the fastest in the league, i hope it translates into points. |

2 MSG channels and the NHL Network airing the Rangers/Devils and we have to watch a stream. |

It is sad that the Devils broadcasts always trump Islander broadcasts. But that is the life of being an isles fan.

You’re most likely correct. I was referring more to the fact that he’s a drinker and has stories. His gaslighting all those years is indefensible. He believed in his lockeroom for 12 years with no success. Crazy |

#Isles practice lines:
Duclair-Horvat-Barzal
Tsyplakov-Nelson-Palmieri
Lee-Pageau-Holmstrom
Cizikas-MacLean-Gauthier
E: Martin-Engvall-Wahlstrom
Pelech-Hutton
Romanov-Dobson
Reilly-Mayfield
E: Bolduc-Cholowski
Varlamov
Hogberg
Seems like Engvall has somewhat fallen out of favor with Roy. Those forward groups look to be what we could start the year with. |

Good on Roy….accountability starts up top. Happy to see Holmstrom looking like he wants it. I wish Wahlstrom showed that same effort.
At the risk of sounding overly optimistic, the isles top 6 (on paper) is the best it’s been in years. Finally got a 1LW and a 2LW…..it’s been a weak spot forever. |

I finally got to watch a preseason game last night and I liked Tsyplakov a lot. Between that and reading only positive things about him, seems like we might have a player there. Maybe not a star, but if he can be a solid second line winger that's a big add with having given up nothing to get him. |

Same with Duclair….cost nothing (but term) to get a legitimate LW.
Tysplakov, from what I’ve seen I’ve liked thus far. He appears to be a legitimate skilled Russian.
Not sure if I’m sold on Hutton or Reilly on the backend.

Reilly is great in the spot he's in. He's a luxury 3rd pairing guy. Any other sort of elevated role and he becomes a bit more of an issue but to play 3rd pair minutes and run PP2 he's perfect for what he costs. |

Don't really know how to feel about Hutton. He hasn't been able to crack the lineup regularly, but they also have a veteran-heavy defense and Mayfield is blocking him for the foreseeable future. I suspect they'll lose him if he goes on waivers and, at age 29, not really too concerned about it. They'll almost certainly lose him after the season as he is a UFA. I'd rather they hold on to Bolduc at this point. |

Yeah I get it, I’m just fearful of having filler as in years past. The Brian Strait years weren’t that long ago.

I agree. It's hard to get a read on Bolduc when he has not been given consistent playing time.

I thought I read Roy was happy with how Bolduc was looking? The top 4 is the key. If they play well, Islanders should be in good shape. |

League approved them not meeting the Oct 7th deadline today. They are also able to count the $2M bonus paid to Gaudreau in July against the cap so it doesn't seem like are going to need to add a bad contract to get to the floor. |

True, but Portzline says Waddell is looking to add a veteran forward to help them reach the floor at some point this season. Maybe Waddell would bite with a slight incentive? |
