That's fine too, as long as none of his teammates are taking a seat on his mustache |

If you want to be a real part of this team you have to take a Pulock mustache ride. |

What if Mayfield does Mayfield things and just stumbles into said seating position? |

Listening to Roy take questions today was very positive. He’s a no nonsense guy, which this group needs. Soft coaches haven’t had success here, and Roy demands that effort. I liked how he gave the analogy of the PP having one minute to score to speed up the process. He said if he gave them 2 min they would think they have more time and continue moving around without generating scoring chances. I thought that was somewhat profound. Certainly sounded a lot better than “he plays hard, smart….he plays the game the right way” |

Sources say a resolution has been reached on Robin Lehner situation with
@GoldenKnights
Lehner will NOT be on Vegas’ salary cap this season. Believe Lehner will still be paid.
Big win for the Golden Knights, who likely will not have to operate in LTIR to start the season.
Vegas seems to have carte blanche to do whatever they want |

No idea. I just know Lou handled this one right in terms of not giving Robin a long-term deal.

I think the problem Lou has run into is that being the islanders, imo, he had to offer term to get UFAs to sign here. Duclair maybe got an extra year, Engvall, Horvat, Mayfield….all prob were offered an extra year on the island. Totally speculation of course but it would make sense as to why the isles have a handful of bad “term” contracts under Lou |

I have no issue giving long term for Bo and I get the Duclair deal. Mayfield and Engvall are another issue and could have been more easily replaced. You just should not give long term deals for bottom pair forwards and dmen. You need to try to sign UFA's to one-year deals to try to buy time for young players to be able to take over in those spots. |

No prob with either Horvat or Duclair contracts. All I’m saying is I’d bet Lou was offering the most term and that’s why they signed on the isles. Obviously Lou had Bo’s rights but I believe he offered too long and said as much.
Either way the point I was trying to make is the reason the isles have a handful of term issue contracts is that is really Lou’s only way of getting guys here. |

If you need to offer term for players like Mayfield and Pierre, that is a huge issue and will cause Cap issues. Giving Bo or Barzal term is not the issue. The issue is giving term to bottom 6 forwards or 3 pair dmen.

I don’t disagree but I guess Lou felt the now was more important vs the expiration. All GMs do it really. The good news is Engvall, and Mayfield don’t break the bank. As of now it appears Engvall is not a part of the roster opening night |

The two of them eat up 6.5 million in cap per year for the next seven years. Not sure that is not breaking the bank. Hopefully mayfield rebounds this year Engvall just sucks. |

Yeah it’s not ideal but 6.5 million with cap going up isn’t preventing them from success. Luckily it’s spread into two players vs 1. I agree that Engvall sucks but they look like they’re willing to eat his salary. The positive is that they brought in two wingers that cost nothing to get.
I believe Mayfield has a better year vs last. I think Roy is a presence. |

Agreed. If (and I'm not saying it will happen) they both get sent to Bridgeport the Isles would free up 2.3 mil in cap space.
