Your assessment of Frost and his hockey sense is not accurate. Frost stood out in the game, as he should against weak competition. Luchanko was just okay. Luchanko is not ready for the NHL so how can he be the team's second best center? - MJL
You very well might be right on Luchanko, frost I disagree |

People wanting to rush a mid first round pick into the NHL because he looks physically ready at 18 is completely the same. Laughton and Luchanko also had similarly average production in Junior. - Feanor
As is their projected upside and being known for all around play rather than offensive flair. Very similar in a lot of ways. |

Yes. Looks like he’s already here. Good on him to reverse course here. Work hard and maybe get some time in preseason. I’m surprised this happened but good news. |

Because he hasn't improved over the same dumb things he has down for the last 2 season, last night he trying to be cute and dance around a player and ends up losing the puck , he very consistent at it.
He did it last year at the end of the season in ot. He plays great for 95% of the game and the 5 % he is brain dead |

He consistently makes low percentage plays that don’t work. seems to turn over the puck every time he tries something cute
Last night he was coming into the zone with Tippett (who ended up with the puck by pure luck). Rather than taking a shot or making a pass he tried to dangle through 2 defenseman who had a good gap on him. Puck fumbles off his stick and ends up with Tippett.
He received a pass and had 2 plays he could have made above the hash marks and tries this cute behind the back pass that he turned over. Just a dumb play there when there were better options. He does this all the time. |

That's an opinion, one that I can prove is wrong. You haven't provided any facts. If you're talking about turnovers, Frost is reliable with the puck. He's also reliable defensively. I can provide evidence of all of that. Frost has steadily improved since he came into the league. Hope it continues.

"While Frost's metrics are good, they are similar or worse than Sean Couturier and Noah Cates. While Frost has become a well rounded and better defensive forward he is still not at the level of those two centers. While Cates spent some time moving back to the wing I think it would be a bit foolish to move someone who was one of the best defensive centers in the league as a rookie last year permanently to the wing. Also, while Frost has similar metrics to Coots and Cates, those two players take much tougher defensive assignments. Not only do they get other teams top offensive producers, they take the odd shift with the 4th line, and usually a much larger share of defensive zone draws. Coots has an Offensive zone start percentage of 43.9% this year, while Cates is significantly higher this season (over 56%), last season he was also around 43%. This season Frost's OZS% is 69.8%, he is ranked 24th in the league in on the fly OZS% and 11th in faceoff OZS% making him one of the most sheltered players in the league at 5v5. This doesn't invalidate Frost's good defensive metrics, there are a number of players who get even more sheltered minutes who deliver much worse results, but it does mean that Coots and Cates have an edge even when their advanced numbers are comparable to Frost." |

And I can show at lest 3 bad turnovers in the last 10 games he has played
It from a visual perspective, he thinks he is better then what he is, and sometimes leads to turnovers because instead he is trying to deck around a player but the better play is to pass it |

I understood what you're saying. I just think it's the opposite. I think he needs to play with more pace when he has the puck on the O zone. There are certainly going to be times when the right play is to slow the play down and draw defenders to you to create openings for your teammates. I want him attacking defenders with speed. One of the knocks against Luchanko is that he does not use his top speed enough when attacking. - MJL
I think he does when attacks the blueline, he has to get better at using his quickness/speed in zone, seems the puck slips off his stick a bit, not in the best position to make the next play or have the best balance to shoot

I'm sure there are some turnovers. All playmakers have turnovers. So here are some facts for you.
Last season, in a 71 game sample, Frost made giveaways at a rate of 1.54 for GvA/60
In comparison, below are the rates for some more prominent players
David Pasternak 3.59
Leon Draisaitl 3.29
Nikita Kucherov 3.28
Jack Hughes 3.27
Connor McDavid 3.10
As far as your comment about Frost thinking that he is better than he is. That's just rhetoric

It does not appear as if you're aware of what actually happens in hockey. Only 3 turnovers in 10 games played? That would be outstanding puck management. If he plays all 82 games. That rate would result in about 28 turnovers in a full season. For comparison, last year the below players had the following amount of giveaways.
Pasternak 98
Kucherov 96
Draisaitl 92
McDavid 84
McKinnon 82

Got anything that isn't almost a year old?

Yes I'm talking bad giveaways, just pat attention to it
Again at ovie best he had 7 turnovers but 4 points, unfortunately frost is not a consistent scorer, to which you can over look them.
If frost was any of those listed players we wouldn't be having a civil conversation about it |

Weird how his defensive metrics under Torts are much better than Tippett's if Frost is the one making all those low percentage plays.

None of those turnovers by the other players were bad turnovers? Do you have any facts at all?
Next we can look at defensive data. |

Isn't more points than giveaways a positive thing? Honestly if he only had 29 giveaways all year that is pretty amazing.
