Whats the over under on goals scored by the bottom 6 as it is currently constructed
I'll say 60. Which leaves us needing at least 200 from the top 6 to be competitive. An average of 33g a piece lol - ieetbred
I think they're hoping the bottom6 helps prevent a lot of goals as well, lowering our necessary total to maybe 245 or so. Caps made it with 220, Isles with 246 and the Kings/Coyotes with 256. So that strategy, if that's what it is, does look very flawed. Still need a bunch of 30 goal scorers in the top6 either way. Tage better crack 50 or that ain't happenin.
IF that occurred, then Vegas deserves massive penalties...like several 1sts lost type of thing. The issue is proving it.
From what I understand there's no point to LTIR for him anymore. They're off the hook. - QuinnFan
I'd be surprised if this was orchestrated. It's a spineless resolution by the league. Seems they just want this one to go away and I'd bet the rest of the league got the message to shut up and not complain about this.

With the Lehner situation, this may be partially due to his issues with creditors. To my understanding he owes millions. He also said he couldn't attend the physical for personal reasons. The more I read, the more I think the NHLPA is just trying to make sure he actually gets paid, so his life doesn't completely fall apart. Skipping a physical is a breach of contract...

that was why I posted the quote, and the article, I thought it was a breach of contract once I read it

Yeah, it's unlikely that it was that obviously done. Vegas may just be pushing it to see what the NHL will do as well. If Vegas voids the contract and a recovering drunk becomes literally destitute because of it, it gives the league a bad image if they don't step in. This may simply be a way of, as you say, making it go away.

Ah I probably miss full artcile. Was just checking with some of the Twitters boys to see what they thought. It's unprecedented, but Vegas probably didn't get away with anything. They could've got it nixed.

I can see how a player in player assistance would have some compelling reasons to miss a physical. You'd think notifying the team would be reasonable, but I bet it's not explicitly in the CBA.
It's all just guessing, but I can't see how a cap exception is fair to the rest of the league.

Yeah, wish I knew more about the verbiage on all that. But you can't see how the bolded is true...because it isn't. This isn't fair to the rest of the league, even if it is in the best interest of Lehner (which should be a consideration).
Nice. I suppose I left out the dmen so maybe I can lower my expectations for forward group
I still think 180 from the top 6 will be necessary and that isn't a lock at all. 40+ goals from the backend would go a long ways to take some pressure off though
