A new CapFriendly replacement. Looks pretty good and is set up almost exactly like CapFriendly.

Looking ahead to cuts/roster ...

Do Leafs waive Timmins and carry Rifai as 7th Dman so that they can keep 14F or do they carry Timmins as 7th Dman which would mean they'd only be able to carry 13F and likely have to cut one of Lorentz or Holmberg or Reaves (ain't happening).

Nah, he'll sign for 8.5 - 9.
Or he doesnt sign, they trade for a package of stuff and that stuff becomes great.
Its's the boston way

- Fakepartofme

lol $8.5-9 will be what $12-12.5 is worth percentage wise in 8 years. If they want him long term then it’s the anticipated cap level in 2032 they’ll need to use as a basis for when they work out the percentage of the cap the contract takes up.

Where I worked through cottage…about 2.5 decades ago lol…. I lived off their food since I was the evening supervisor in the kitchen and got it for free, same with shots from the bartender and blow from the guy who came in to take care of the games in the bar (he needed the kitchen bathroom lol)… I haven’t had BP since and I’m now far too old for partying stupidity oh my 20s lol… and (frank) BP is old nowadays

Supposedly only portions of the source code were proprietary in the purchase by the Capitals - so the former owner of capfriendly shared it with a friend. I've been using capwages since friendly went offline. It's grown considerably and still has a long way to go - but it's probably the best option out there.

I use capwages all the time too, if you ever have a hiccup with that site puckpedia.com is a decent one as well.

So let's use this that Mirtle proposed - you have:

Knies (.925) - Matthews (13.25) - Marner (10.9)
Pacioretty (1.1) - Nylander (11.5) - Jarnkrok (2.1)
Robertson (.875) - Tavares (11) - Domi (3.75)
McMann (1.35) - Kampf (2.4) - Reaves (1.35)
Holmberg (.8)
Lorentz (.775)

Rielly (7.5) - Tanev (4.5)
Benoit (1.35) - McCabe (2)
Ekman-Larsson (3.5) - Liljegren (3)
Rifai (.775)

Woll (.767)
Stolarz (2.5)

LTIR
Hakanpaa (1.47)
Dewar (1.18)

This is a cap of 90.62m with 2.65m of LTIR space.

That does assume Timmins is waived.

The wrinkles here are that we don't know how long Dewar and Hakanpaa are actually injured for - at least a month to start the year, if they begin on LTIR. But you still need to make that $2.65m in space before they come back to the roster.

That feels to me like they have a Liljegren sized hole in the cap - meaning you trade him now, keep Timmins until you need the $1.1m space, and then move Timmins one way or the other to make the room you need.

Careful, last time I mentioned that a $3 mill bottom pairing guy was expensive and we might see him moved to open up room for d men far more useful in the physical back end they’re building I got mocked heavily. Didn’t even suggest he would get traded, just that it was possible. Nope I guess, according to some here I’m nothing more than a lunatic who is wrong.

It's even possible that 3M bottom pairing guy might be a healthy scratch a few times this season if you ask me.

Hopefully on his new team?

There are some things I like about Liljegren's game - he's a good skater - but not overly fast. He's has smart route selection - which is an underrated skill - and he is an excellent passer. He does have a pretty high hockey IQ. All of that translates to decent regular season performance.

But unless he puts on some muscle, develops a bit of a mean streak, and starts winning battles in front of the net and on the wall, he's going to be a liability when games matter.

I won’t be shocked if he gets dealt for “future considerations” somewhere tbh. You’re not wrong, on these leafs he’s a $3 mill 6th-7th guy. For a cap constrained team that’s simply way too expensive. A team like Columbus could use him to reach the cap floor, them and others will still be takers, but they’ll wait for the leafs to be forced to do it making the price nothing.
