Has nothing to do with accruing capspace, it was just a Benninglike trade that included a pick, because Allvin insisted on giving out a few overpayment on some recent contracts. I didn't expect you and several others to understand - Reubenkincade
How much of Poolman's contract is retained? - bloatedmosquito
“By making trade, #Canucks no longer need to use LTIR. They effectively took $900K Brannstrom + $500K retained on Poolman vs potentially Poolman on LTIR, but now are under cap & can accrue space.
They have $1.19M Proj Space with 23 active (12F/8D/3G)”

See EB as a reclamation project at most. The 4th is cheap for capology reasons.

Be nice if he was a late developer like Forsling. Wishful thinking but he at least had some potential along somewhere along the way. Was the main piece in a Mark Stone trade once upon a time.
But ya, I think they were dieing for some flexibility not involving LTIR. Someone said it basically cost Podkolzin ... he make the coilers?
They're still paying OEL for several more years. - NorthNuck
This does hurt. The fact he turned around and won a cup and then got another multi-million dollar contract in the centre of the universe. Not arguing it wasn't necessary at the time, but feels like only the canucks could be on the receiving end of such a thorough eff you haha.

In a similar way to Myers, he was never horrendously bad, just nowhere near the value of his contract. It makes sense that he carved out a space for himself once he had less responsibility
