Well now certainly Phillips and Crevier even KK fall short by such criteria. Given a year of pro experience, it is not surprising to see how the head coach wants the Allen pedigree over the game the others who were sent down

AZ about 6 or 7 years ahead on their rebuild, they should be better than the Hawks, and they should be better than they have been, maybe this is the year they take that step.

Their prospect pool is pretty good, and they also like the Hawks, have a lot of picks coming up from what i remember

I will be watching from Los Angeles; it just so happens we had another trip to celebrate movie star grandchild Nolan River's birthday, before someone planned a surprise attack on my St. Petersburg house as current impact spot.

Ha ha, Boiler. After watching our butts get handed to us against Minny twice with two almost regular rosters, I agree the BOD will be out tomorrow.

Hopefully the roster will gel tonight and it will be a close game. I have a feeling that our bottom two lines will perform well and our top two will take more time to adjust.

It was telegraphed by KD and LR that no positions were going to be handed out, that they have to be earned. Has Reichel earned a place in the top 6? Has Reichel really earned a place on the roster? If ti wasn't the fact he is waiver eligible, he would be back in the A right now. Nazer. Gutman, even Dach performed better in the preseason than Reichel.

He will get his chances this season, but if he doesn't meet LR's standard for play, and doesn't earn the coaching staff's trust, he will continue as the 13/14th forward.

I am really happy to see 15(22)-16-17 back together as a 3rd line. Thought they were really solid in their role to start last season and couldn't understand why they were separated. They will see a lot of TOI because Richardson has trust in them. Maybe more minutes than the 2nd line.

He is signed for 2 more years. With injuries/trades/slumps he should have ample opportunities to earn a spot.

The big takeaway from Kyle Davidson's press conference today was that he wants the Blackhawks' young players to have to really convincingly earn NHL jobs in order to get them. He felt like they were being given spots out of necessity last year.

He specifically mentioned admiring how Dallas has handled Thomas Harley and Logan Stankoven.

How would they know if they don't play them.

If he's not doing the things that they told him he needed to improve on why give him a spot in the lineup. If he can prove to be responsible with the puck and more assertive with his shot, then maybe he gets back in. They gave him 23 games two years ago and multiple opportunities (most of the season) last year. At some point the kid has to put his big boy shorts on and do what is required of him.

He's had plenty of opportunity to not only play, but take the coaches advice and implement changes. At what point do you just say he's not good enough? It's not like they don't have an army of forwards coming up right now, and guess what, there won't be room for all of them.
