Do they ever face consequences for their actions? - Flyers_01
The league is opening up their own loophole. Injured player, never going to play again. Just tell him to not show up for the yearly physical. Team will move to terminate and agreement will be reached. Player gets full salary and team gets cap relief.

Nothing that I can see except that it is his final year?. Its insane and quite frankly unfair to other teams that have LTIR players who are for all intents retired.
So why just tell Ellis not to show up, get the contract voided while still paying him. No cap hit. Unless because he has multiple years left. I don't know, it seems like a giant cap circumvention scam once again.

If I was making the decisions, I'd also have Michkov with Couturier but I would switch Konecny and Foerster - MJL
I agree with this, and I would actually play each player on there off wing.
TK can play with anyone and might just get Frost more consistent. |

My guess is that it's unique because they don't want it to set precedent. Their version of "nothing to see here".

I don't know all the information on Lehner, but I would assume his bankruptcy and criminal fraud makes it more unique...it's certainly not an injury that has him on LTIR that is being claimed.

What makes that any different from any other illness or injury that prevents a player from playing?

Are you saying a mental disease is the same as a physical disease? Cana physical disease cause a flip to switch and cause you to hurt someone?

I think everyone knows the difference between a physical issue and mental issue. The argument is that neither should get a team cap relief. The league has support options for players with mental instability. Those players contracts should count the same as everyone elses.

Could this be the starting lineup on opening night?
Michkov-Couturier-Konecny
Tippett-Frost-Foerster
Farabee-Luchanko-Brink
Laughton-Poehling-Hathaway
With Lycksell and ND as your 13th and 14th forwards. - jd250
Michkov with Couturier and not Frost. Totorella will do anything to suppress Frost and bump up a very pedestrian looking Couturier |

I’ll say it. I still think they will send Luchanko back…before they leave for the west coast to start the season….cutting Brink I beleive would be a mistake…he’s one of the guys who’s improving every year. |

Though if he had the opportunity to move to a contender you think he turns it down?
He is following down the CC path so he may. |
