I’ll say it. I still think they will send Luchanko back…before they leave for the west coast to start the season….cutting Brink I beleive would be a mistake…he’s one of the guys who’s improving every year. - landros 2

If I was making the decisions, I'd also have Michkov with Couturier but I would switch Konecny and Foerster - MJL
Frost may have two snipers to play with. Now whether either sniper can actually hit the net with their shots is another issue. |

It's very on brand for the Flyers to put an 18 year old who only had 74 points in Junior onto their NHL roster when they have signed/acquired/retained three bottom six center candidates making $7.5m+ combined. |

Is Risto still the Flyers best dman and do you think he'll be sad on his 30th birthday knowing he's never seen a minute of playoff action?

I do chuckle when I read others say that. I think a broken clock is far more right than I ever am. Maybe he does make the opening night roster? DB then has some work to do if that’s the intention. |

1. On Sept. 25, when Congress passed a resolution to keep the federal government open, extra cash for the DRF was left out — without some members' knowledge.
"I would have thought that if you were going to do something, disaster funding would've been one of the starting points. I have no idea how they got to that," Representative Mark Amodei, Republican of Nevada and chair of the House Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee told Politico's E&E News.
"They didn't call me in and ask me for any advice. Can you believe that?"
While the resolution did include a temporary injection of $20 billion for FEMA to tap into, that cash is not just for the disaster in the past week, but for communities which faced flooding and fires earlier this year as well.
Leaders of both chambers reportedly got together to remove the extra funding in an effort to get the overall resolution passed, while Republicans, including Florida Representative Matt Gaetz, voted against the resolution anyway, just days before Hurricane Helene hit his state.
"It is getting a little exhausting to watch some House Republicans push again and again for the most extreme, partisan cuts and policies—stuff that is not realistic at all—before learning the same lessons the hard way—yet again," Senator Patty Murray, Democrat of Washington and chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, said on the Senate floor before the resolution passed.
2. "The Shelter and Services Program (SSP) is a completely separate, appropriated grant program that was authorized and funded by Congress and is not associated in any way with FEMA's disaster-related authorities or funding streams."
The migrant housing has no bearing on disaster relief but one party loves to conflate the issues. Apparantly migrants, legal ones even, are the cause of every problem. Who knew? Maybe they are why the Flyers haven't won the Stanley cup in 50+ years.

none of that changes what I said. phuck those illegals.
imagine spending all this money on illegal aliens while Americans suffer. knowing the democratic party places more value on them than fellow Americans is comical.

Does any non contending team ( contender for that matter) have as much money tied up in their 4th line? 7 million.
Scott Laughton - Ryan Poehling - Garnet Hathaway - furio16
Why are you comparing the Flyers to a contending team? Flyers are not a contending teams. They are rebuilding, they are paying Vets more to have them on the team while they are not competing for a cup. Briere has stated while the goal is to make the playoffs, they are nowhere near contending for a cup. Their bottom 6 is probably more comparable with Montreal than anything.
Hathaway and Laughton will not be part of the Flyers when contending.

You have misread that. It is not a comparison of the Flyers to a contending team. the point that you missed is why does a non contending team need veterans on the 4th line? Not only is it a poor use of cap space, those spots should be open for young players that are NHL ready.
Are you so sure that they won't? If it's not them, it'll be another version of those players and they'll always have those players. Part of the reason why they never get to contender status. They don't know how to rebuild. You apparently don't understand it either. |

Didn't Torts just go off on Drysdale saying they brought him up to early and the coaches didn't know what they were doing?
I thought he was making an ignorant rant (as he is want to do) about the Ducks but it turns out he was just telling us his plans for Jett. - Flyers_01
Oranges to apples. No player is the same. You cant treat them the same. One player could be ready while the other isnt. There is no harm in letting him play a few games in the NHL before being sent down.
I will be uncomfortable if they keep him for the full season but that could be best for him. No one here knows jack to say otherwise. No one here has developed a NHL player, no one knows for sure the best method. Everything is just basless specualtion. I want Jett to go down as well but I dont have anything that proves he will be better off in the OHL than NHL.
Even all these comments are speculation. He could still be sent down whenever the final cuts are made. People are getting riled up and upset over something that hasnt even happened yet. Why get angry over something that might not even happen? If he is sent down you got angry for no reason.

A player can definitely be harmed by it. It may be a small degree of harm, but he can be harmed. If you don't think he is ready for the NHL full time, then you should send him down. You again, missed the point that the poster was making. Tortorella is potentially getting ready to do the same thing that he accused Anahiem of doing with Drysdale

This is a dumb comment. What you state here can be applied to anything concerning the Flyers. Negative or positive. So shut down the forum and close it up. Unless of course you have developed an NHL player. Have you? It's also ignorance to not think that there is any information available to support that he would be better in the OHL than the NHL. I guess that doesn't count though, unless you have developed an NHL player

Because there is information that suggests that it might happen and based on that it worthy of discussion. That's what this is, a discussion forum.

Much of that money was spent on LEGAL immigrants. The article explicitly states that there were REPUBLICANS who voted against funding FEMA.

Not angry, just amused and bored. Blaming ANH for Drysdale's shortcomings is comical. God forbid he take into account that ANH plays man-to-man defense vs the zone the Flyers play.
That's right, Torts believes systems are overrated. You should be able to plug someone into a system he's never played and he shouldn't miss a beat.
Doesn't believe in systems or analytics and his main motivational tool is getting players pissed off enough to confront him, how is he still a coach in the 21st century? |

This is not directed at you but at the situation. Both sides now want to use the hurricane and what is going on as a political football in an election season. People have died, people have lost everything and are living without the basics of life that we are accustomed to. There are still more bodies out there to be found. I won't take part in it and I find it disgusting. We all need to come together and help these people however we can. This is not a political issue.
