Hmmmm...
Are Holmberg and Timmins part of the "starting group" on Saturday? They're not in tonights game so either they are playing as part of the top group ....or not playing b/c they're designated for waivers/trade. |

It's hard to know what to read into it. These are today's practice lines:
Knies-Matthews-Marner
Domi-Tavares-Nylander
Dewar-Holmberg-Reaves
Tverberg-Blandisi-Shaw
Rielly-Tanev
OEL-McCabe
Benoit-Timmins
Pietreniro-Hakanpaa
Woll
Murray
We know the bolded aren't breaking camp with the team.
There is also a strong suspicion that Dewar and Hakanpaa may not be healthy enough to go - but are they injured enough to be on the LTIR for the month of October?
This almost implies that Timmins passed Liljegren on the depth chart and now Liljegren and Rifai and playing for the 7 spot. I'd be surprised if that's the case.
But if Lorentz and Pacioretty both make this team, then some guys we know - like Holmberg, Kampf, Jarnkrok, Dewar or Reaves are being replaced. |

How has Phil Myers looked? |

Looks like it should be interesting and will go down to the wire on the setting of the roster. Wonder if anyone gets claimed off waivers too. We always seem to lose someone past few years.
Also interested to see how Webber looks |

I don't know. If I was setting up the lines, it would probably be something like:
Knies - Matthews - Marner
Pacioretty - Tavares - Nylander
Domi - Holmberg - Robertson
McMann - Kampf - Jarnkrok
Reaves / Lorentz
Dewar (LTIR)
Rielly - Tanev
OEL - McCabe
Benoit - Liljegren
Timmins
Hakanpaa (LTIR)
Woll
Stolarz
Now that lineup, with Dewar and Hakanpaa on LTIR is $300k over the cap, but if they waive Timmins and use Rifai (who is $325k cheaper), then they are cap compliant with $30k to spare.
It does just move the bump down the snake though because eventually they'll have to fit Dewar and Hakanpaa into the lineup. As I said earlier though, it really depends on if Dewar and Hakanpaa are on LTIR. They're practicing, so I guess it really depends on where they are. |

Take your pick but I think one of: Jarnkrok, Kampf or Lily is gone before opening night.
Tough call for me unless you package Kampf and Lily with a good rookie and get a legit 3C. And even trade Jarnkrok for pick/prospect to make more space and bring in a player with term and good enough the cap hit is around $3-5M.
Knies, Matthews, Marner
Patches, Tavares, Nylander
Robertson, The Poone or Blake Coleman, Domi
McMann, Lorentz, Dewar/Reaves
Rielly, Tanev
Benoit, McCabe
OEL, Hakapaa
Timmins
Woll
Stolarz
I could work with that. GLG |

After 27 years working here (18 as manager) our company has decided to close our hatchery π
Thx Trudeau π
Fun fact: after closing all the sites we supplied on the east coast of the island, sea lice levels are the highest since 2004
What a fn joke
I can either stay as caretaker (The Shining) or take severance
And now, off to a meeting π

Garnie is a regular here who was fond of Engvall but i think towards the end soured on him. He took a hiatus after the last playoff loss but he pop in from time to time. The sure sign it's him is the mention of long necks and one of 2 GIF's one being a giraffe and the other being dancing baboons. He is not the Polkaroo (well maybe he is for you).
Thick necks is a Sklappy mandatory requirement for the team he will lead to the promised land of being Cup champs. He believes a lack of thick necks, not enough guys "pulling lawnmowers" on opponents, too many pencil necks with big hats or silly fashion first clothing whose richards shrink come playoffs like they are naked in 5 feet of snow are all the kryponite to the past Leafs teams in the playoffs.
He will correct me if I am wrong or mistaken - he is a regular here also.
