They had to trade one of them. It was either Ullmark or Swayman. Which one would you have traded? - MJL
The problem is Swaymam is completely off his rocker if he thinks he has the cachet to earn a market setting contract. He doesn't. Not close. I wouldn't sign the kid for $7M a year, never mind a max contract at $10M. The Bruins have successful goalies because of the defensive system they play. I bet you anything that if Korpisalo remains the Bruin's starter, he has the best year of this career. Now with that said, I am absolutely loving that the Bruins are dealing with this mess. Dump more messes on them I say! The best part of the hockey season for me is watching people around here lose their minds when the Bruins don't make it past the 1st or 2d round |

BTW, funny story. Last night I wore my newest Flyers hockey shirt at a local fair, and got free fried dough from one of the vendors who was from Philly and loves the Flyers. Can't beat that folks! |

The longer it takes the more it will cost. Especially if rangers sign terk first. Terk wants to reset the goalie market. Swayman does as well.
Carey price is getting 10.5. That is the market - WhiskeyMan
Stupid teams sign goalies to this kind of money. The game has changed. Goalies like Broduer and Roy are long gone. Goalies are not like QBs in football. Teams that have just a solid goalie and build a good team in front of them are the ones that win cups in this era. |

Probably not.
Maybe they’ll just give him a few games and send him back down?
Maybe he’ll be great and he’ll stick?
They’ve got me interested in seeing what happens. - Dkos
Briere has said the Flyers are in the entertainment business. Well, clearly this team is entertaining. |

Torts' mission will not be complete until he get Jett ahead of Frosty in the pecking order! You heard it here first. Thanks! |

Having Jett at 3C really solidifies the bottom 6 and slots everyone in the right place, i.e. Poehling at 4C, Laughton at wing, and Nick D in the press box. Why the Flyers didn't waive ND and keep Lycksell is what makes no sense to me. I hope Lycksell sticks with the Flyers but I fear he is going to get claimed. - jd250
Based on what? His pedestrian camp/pre-season? He hasn't played 1 game yet. Comments like these crack me up.
No one has any idea how he will perform. |

He's in over his head here. Just take the money and play you entitled spoiled brat! You don't like the Bruins and live in Boston? |

If Jett and Michkov are not out there to start every 3-3 OT, I will literally show up and crash the bench. - jd250
Don’t get too carried away with Jett….the plan for now is to start the season in Philadelphia to give him some experience before returning him for another year in Guelph. |

He looked overmatched physically to be honest. I hope someone doesn't truck him. It's just such a difference from anything he has experienced before. I mean, the regular season is totally different from the preseason. It will also be interesting to see how Michkov handles the more physical atmosphere. |

I think the plan is to keep him all year unless he just looks way out of place. |

To be fair we don’t see him in everyday practice. Just a few games. I don’t think he’s looked out of place. As the coach pointed out he’s been fine the pace, appear to be both physically and mentally mature. Just turning 18 is a big concern for me…part of developing is doing so against kids your own age. I do think the Flyers get this and eventually (by all accounts) will do right by the kid.

is this what they want? he can hold his own. is that the measuring stick?
I presume he is a considered a building block for this awesome rebuild. I would think they want him to be better than that and for lack of a better a diff maker. How much is he going to develop offensively by not being out of place playing on the flyers.
he didn't even dominate juniors. part of me hopes he kills it in those 9 games then keep hm all year. hits a wall and then they send him back. all while wasting a year on his ELC.
They still may send him back before the season starts. I just do not see any real longview approach with this organization. |

The answer to your first question…yes …that’s pretty rare for an 18 year old. The 2nd half of his OHL season apparently he was dominating. He has all the tools to be a top line player from what I’ve seen….will he get there ? No idea. I’m not advocating in any way what they are doing with this kid….I’ve literally only seen him play a hand full of games. I still think he’s developing. I laugh when I read peeps saying his ceiling is a 2nd or 3rd line C? Based on what? Kid clearly has vision…has made a bunch of plays as an 18 year old at high speed at the NHL level. Has NHL skating ability already and from all accounts is a very mature young man.
I’ve been very impressed and hope he has a huge developmental year. |

Well, maybe not first - Dkos Yeah, maybe not first. I'm guessing if you gave Torts a lie detector test he would tell you that he already likes Jett's game more than Frosty's game. |

i just really don't like the way Frost plays the game. i don't know what else to say.
he's soft. and instead of making the simple play he tries the cute play and gets caught.

There we go. I wish more people just did this instead of playing their stupid games and arguing for months/years about it.
I don't agree completely, but cool I respect that.

I was a goalie for much of my career and I would watch plays develop/fall apart all the time. There were certain players on my teams I felt comfortable when they had the puck and other players where I’d be on edge when they had it - just by watching them and knowing what they’d do, how confident they were with the puck, could they manage the puck well, do I expect them to turn it over etc.
Frost is a player that is frustrating to watch from my perspective
I eventually switched to wing because I wasn’t very tall - i started goal when the richters and Vernon’s were the bar for goalies but had to find a way in nice goalies were getting taller lol |

Based on the consensus of the scouting reports on the player. He made plays in pre season. Reports are that he has to learn how to make plays at his top pace and he needs to get physically stronger because he is easily knocked off the puck in transition when at top speed.
