You need to look in the mirror. There are plenty of us who have condemned his racist behavior and stood behind you. Including me and you then turned around and attacked those in other matters. My question to you is why are you interacting with an obvious racist? If you won't help yourself, why are you expecting others to step in? - MJL
stfu cliff. you only deal n facts you claim. any links to provide proof? calling someone a racist is so cutting edge.
he is the one who opened the door with his opening remark. now whining like a child without a dad. cry me a river.
How is dad? he find a job yet? |

the coaches job is to win games. Is he supposed to put a player ahead of the team?
doesn't the team always come first? - hello it's me 2050
Player development is also a part of the coaches job.

You're wrong. Cates showed plenty of offensive ability when he was used properly. - MJL[/quote]
when was this? any facts to back this claim up. |

well he said when he was used properly. everyone knows his thoughts on that as he has said hundreds of times Cates was not used properly at center.
I would think that doesn't count, that's why asked when. |

The current state of Flyers I would say no. The Flyers say they are rebuilding. To me that would mean they emphasize player development more than a team that is simply trying to win games.

You're wrong. Cates showed plenty of offensive ability when he was used properly. - MJL You want him as your first line center and playing on the PP? Thats how he got those numbers. The team had no one else to put out there. Has 0 to do with how Torts used him then and now unless you want him playing ahead of Frost and Selke at Center. 0 to do with Torts stunting his growth. The fact is there just isnt more there than a 30 to 35 pt forward in there that can play defense which is still pretty good. |

would a rebuilding team find a way to get Andare in the lineup? - hello it's me 2050 Just so I understand this. If Andrae is on the Flyers, that means they are not rebuilding? There already have York, Drysdale and Z in their top 6. You want another kid in there too? Yes, he had a decent camp, but does he really look ready to you? I saw him in person 4 or 5 times for the Phantoms last year. He was pretty good, but not great. Not someone who you say, he needs to play in the NHL right now or in the near future. He will make it, but don't see why he needs to start the yr on the Flyers.

I agree the Flyers are straight up lying about their status.
Young players need to be developed regardless of the league they play in. Good coaches are able to balance winning with proper player development. |

are not kids as they have several years of nhl experience.
Andre has put in his time in the AHL and pro hockey in Europe. it is now time to see what he has to offer and if he can be a piece of the puzzle going forward. Don't see how another year in the AHL really benefits him. They have said he is ready, so what's the issue?
2 years from now Andrae will be the next Ginning/Attard part of the conversation. |

Developing players properly leads to more wins. If the Flyers keep Luchanko is that about winning games right now?

That's certainly something to debate but his value defensively is still so immense that he's 100% more than just a "tweener".
I'd gladly take Cates over Laughts or Poehls any day. - Tomahawk
I like Poehling a lot. I have wanted the Flyers to trade Laughton for quite some time now. The thing is, even with Laughton out of the way, I think Lycksell is going to challenge for that wing spot. |

Nope, you routinely show a lack of the grasp of the facts. Similar to how you posted yesterday incorrectly that Drysdale was getting 1st pair minutes in Anaheim. What I'm alluding to was when Cates was used as a 3rd line winger and showed offensive ability as F1 and in making plays around the net. If I need to explain what F1 is to you. Let me know. |

You have to wonder how motivated he is to play well. He isnt making the Flyers and he doesnt want to play for Phantoms. Have read there is some agreement that after a short time period if he is not on Flyers roster they will release him to play in KHL - hfc355
I read the same thing, but frankly I don't believe it. Why would the Flyers ever agree to this? If Kolosov is ever going to be a viable NHL goalie, practicing with Minsk is not the path to get there. He needs to play in the AHL and learn how to play this style of hockey. If I am the Flyers I tell him you go back again, you are never playing in the NHL, ever! |

yes what is an F1? What offensive ability did he show as a LW? it didn't translate to many points. |

Probably so he has the option of dressing ND for games. It's time for that group to realize that he is no longer an NHL player. Someone could be watching their first hockey game of their life and see that he can't keep up anymore. Torts gonna Torts! - Phillywhiteout
Yes, Deslauriers is not an NHL player that his point. The Flyers should do the right thing and waive him. The Flyers should be in the business of winning hockey games, not worrying about player's feelings. |

You're incorrect. That is not what I'm referring to. Tortorella has used him incorrectly as a player bu using him at center and putting the team needs first above what is best for the player. Cates offensive production completely drying up is a result of that.
