I calculated I would need about 13kW of power to handle the start up load on my AC. While running the rest of the house (fans, appliances, etc.) and I want:
a) inverter Generator so it's clean electricity
b) run off Natural Gas so it can run long with no refilling necessary.
When you package all he costs together of Tru-fuel Generator, Electric Cords for 50A,
Electrician for wiring in the Transfer Switch, Plumbing for Nat Gas Kit, looking at around $4k-$5k.

Using this Hurricane to evaluate the need as this will end up being among the worst situations to deal with... Although being Middle October has helped with lower temperatures to deal with.

You may have to pay your natural gas provider a few hundred $$$ to upgrade your service line and meter to ensure there's enough gas pressure to run the generator.

Also I would guess lead times for Generac generators are probably rather long these days. Best to get on the list now.
