For 3 years its been the same thing. Team work the boards. Hawk players skate away from the puck carrier and the points are open for business.
Changing the goalie isn't going to change the system. Changing the HC will. - Elbows15
Sure bud, when you are lucky that you aren't down by 4 or 5 after period one and the goalie having a so-so night. If Mrazek is standing on his head that's one thing, but making the change can send a message to the team in front of him. That's all I'm saying, I would have considered making the change.
I think blaming the system is lazy and minimizing the fact that they do have professional coaches who know more about systems than fans on a hockey board. |

LOL Maroon is moving like he is in a rec league game with a team that only had 6 skaters show up. And this is game 1. - LAHawk
I am trying to decide if he is slower than Perry, it's gotta be close. |

He changed everything up after the PK. Couple guys gassed. - Chunk
You were right, Chunk. I know a line gets juggled after a PK but 3 lines juggled after a 2:00 PK???? |

You mean he's playing/skating the same way he did to win 3 cups? - Mr Ricochet
He has as much ice time thru 2 as he saw the whole game while winning cups.
Richardinson’s line with 4th line minutes.
Jones 17 min, Martinez 16 min. BRODIE 11:38 and Vlasic 11:07 thru 2. |

And Brodie with a -2. 2 years of him, what a signing - LAHawk
This dude disgusts you, LA? Rather have Megna or Tinordi as your 6th/7th Dman or cough 5 yrs at 4.9 per for a Holl type guy? ....... It's The Bigs with a salary cap.

Bugs me KD gave him 2 years. He was still available after 7/1, obvious he was not in great demand. |

Like he is any different than Tinordi or Megna at this point in his career. It bugged me he gave him a contract, period.
The guys was sat for a couple of nobodies in the PO last season. |

That’s why Vlasic should have been on the 2nd PP unit. |

I don’t mind Brodie, the guy isn’t what he used to be but he’s still more solid than most of the crap we’ve had in the last three years. He’s actually had some heady plays. |

Got ya, LA. I'm guessing it was pick your poison on which 15 yr vet you wanna add as a 6th/7th Dman. My guess is anyone added wouldn't make any Hawk fan happy.
Guy has been in the top 5 in blocked shots every yr the last 20 yrs. I'll take him as a 6th/7th Dman cuz how much difference does it make, really?

Good one LA. When they showed her talking about the seats, I knew she looked like someone I knew. |

For me, I'd like to see how he plays in these first 12-15 games. He isn't a top 4 guy to me, but I think probably okay if he was 3rd pair, but kind of waiting to see more. |

I think he has ha a pretty decent game all things considered. I've noticed he often doesn't give up on the puck and gets his stick in there to distrupt. |

Close to tying it, have to give them credit for fighting back into the game. I'll give Mrazek credit for settling in during the second half. |

Gonna look at the fancies but I think L4 is gonna be shown to be their best line tonight...... After a sucky 1st the squad didn't look too bad.
Yo Steve, what did I miss on LR's coaching tonight? |

Yeah closer than the score. Many new faces still need time to gel. Bert had a million grade A chances which is promising. Wouldn’t mind sitting Smith and putting in Reichel for the next game. |

They didn’t quit, liked the effort after the 1st. Unfortunately, Edmonton next. Was off by one for the final. Bedard with 2 apples, instead of 2 goals. Effort was there, just a lack of talent unfortunately. |

Bedard, Vlasic looked good tonight
Allan didn't look out of place the 10 minutes he played.
This team needs to just continue to work on passing cause they really suck at it. |
