I really don't mind Maroon being on the PP as long as he plants his rear in front of the goalie. They have limited options for sure, but if you get guys with specific skills in the right place, you may have better success. - Chunk
I think with the lack of high end talent outside of Bedard you just have to live with a bad PP2 until maybe later in the season when these vets start dropping or if some of the lads burn down the AHL. |

You’re right, they’re 70 years old, but Cale Makar would. In all seriousness, they don’t have a quarterback for their power play on the roster, it will have to be Arty or KK eventually. - Angotti
I said peak versions of those two players, not the 70 year old version. C'mon now.
In all seriousness, they are also a few fowards short for PP1. Makar has MacKinnon, Rantanen, Mittelstadt, and Colton in his group.
Glad to hear you're safe. |

Reichel has not proven to be a capable NHL player, nor better than the guys that are active. Seth Jones is the best defenseman on this team. Low bar, but still. - Chunk
I think you could start to make an argument that Vlasic is better all around, especially at actually defending which, as we are reminded here often, is important. |

No I was talking about Brodie because you were (cuz his contract sucks too). They didn't sign Brodie to be the main shutdown guy.
My guess as to why Vlasic is on PP2 is because there isn't enough good forwards and they want to try and minimize the amount of shorthanded chances against. I'm sure it will go horribly too. - Chunk
At this point of the rebuild, the Hawks have no bad contracts

I don't see it as an assumption, you just need to look at the evidence.
1) Jones has far more points than any other D on the roster
2) As far as Points per 60 minutes on the PP, only Korchinski was close to Jones Blackhawks average.
3) The coaches put Jones on PP1 (because he is the most capable) - breadbag
Well since he's the only one playing the PP1 exclusively, I'd say he is the winner by default.
He did get an assist the other night when he almost killed Bedard with that pass. Thank God it wasn't Trouba because they'd still be picking pieces of him up.

Great point, and I was thinking earlier, hypothetically of course. If you were to add Makar and Mackinnon to this roster, and there were no major injuries to the team, would they make the playoffs? |

The story is the same at 5v5 and that pass, it's wasn't a suicide pass, Bedard was not looking where he was skating, he had his head turned directly back, which is why he was nearly hit. |
