Here is your daily dose of Steve Simmons stupidity for the day. Matthews showed a great deal of restraint not responding the way we all remember Phil the Thrill did to Feschuck lol.
For the uninitiated this was Phil's response to being asked a bit of a stupid question after Simmons was writing crap about his hot dog eating habits:

Simmons is an idiot.
But players arent making anything close to other leagues.
Jagr and kariya made 10 - $10.3m in 2000.
24 years later, the best players are only making $3m or so more.
And yes, different tv deals/audiences etc i get that

The disparity in salaries is directly linked to the various league revenues and a lot of that is TV deals (as you said).
The NFL had more than double the revenue of the NHL last year.
The NHL makes must less revenue according to this article - behind the big boys of NFL, MLB, IPL (Cricket), NBA, & EPL.
Less money made = less to share (fight over) for the owners and players.
It's like the argument that women in the PWHL should make the same money as NHL players just to a different degree.
Unless your saying something different? I think the small increases in NHL salaries can be attributed to less growth of the league/game than perhaps the NBA or NFL?
The Hard Salary Cap vs soft / luxury tax systems also have a big impact.
The University Formerly Known as Ryerson has announced that its medical school will now be primarily approving applicants based on their race, rather than the traditional conduit of grades and ability. Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Medicine posted an update to its official selection guidelines stating that only about 24 of the 94 seats in the next MD program will be earmarked for candidates who qualify under conventional circumstances. The rest will be going to candidates who enter through “Indigenous, Black, and Equity-Deserving admissions pathways.”

What a f@cking looney time to be alive. I don't know about you, but I'd like my doctor to be a good f@cking doctor, not check some race box.

No.
The one sister is the big concern as she is in St Petes although not in the storm surge zone. Rest of the family is also out of the surge zone on the east side.
The wind and rain are another story.
There are literally piles of debris all over the coast from Helene. I can only imagine what a 200 km/h wind is going to do with it all.
