I've got no issue with it ... not impressed by him so far.

New team ... hopefully just a learning curve. Keep hearing about the tools he possesses, but all I see so far is size really.

Peaks and Valleys last year in EDM to be sure but Desharnais did come in to his own by the end of the season. I think we need what he brings but if he's scratched all the time he won't be effective. See where it goes I guess.

The Padres…I don’t watch 10pm start time West Coast NHL games. I hope the Canucks win but I hope a couple of the new/young Flyers players do well.
- Pacificgem

Gonna be an interesting one tonight Nucks breaking in another new goalie lol

Let's go Padres!!!!!!

Kevin Lankinen starts in goal, per Rick Tocchet. Juulsen and Suter are in. Åman and Desharnais are out. #Canucks  @Sportsnet650

Thank goodness. Still thinks he's playing for the oilers.

How about that Dylan Guenther kid huh...4 goals in two games. Kids gonna score 40. That contract is gonna look real good by the end of the year.

Speaking of fucktard, did you see what Frank Seravalli wrote on his season preview article this week? Take a look... he's essentially saying Gaudreau's death will help Columbus get their first ever first overall draft pick. Brutal.

You're going to eat your words, and I'm going to remind you of it and why they have professional people doing the contract thing, not HB wizards.

And don't worry, I'm well aware I'm in your category on these matters lol.

Apparently what he meant was a blessing down from heaven, which is also stupid, but slightly less offensive

Just so we're clear, remember that this is what I said:
With Guenther specifically it feels like an overpay to me.

I can't see him raising his value much higher than 7-8 mil over the lifetime of the deal, so I just don't see it saving the team money, even in the long run. I think if you bridge him for 1 or 2 years, there is very little danger of having to pay him more than they already have. But hey, maybe I'm wrong and he scores 40 goals this season

You have full permission to give me shit in 7-8 years

I'm not sold on Heinen being the guy for Miller's line. He's a good player, but I think they need a guy with either more top end skill, or more grit. Joshua should get a run in that spot when he's back.

Also, it only took 1 game for Hoglander to get pushed to the 4th line again

- NorthNuck

From Drance, sort of shoots down this idea:

Höglander moves to the fourth line: The combination of Nils Höglander and Conor Garland — a duo that’s had some chemistry in the past and performed well together throughout training camp, the preseason and in the season opener — never seems to stick together for very long. Höglander had a solid performance on opening night, but with Suter returning to the lineup, Tocchet decided to break up the third line and bump Höglander down to play with Teddy Blueger and Sherwood on the fourth line. While that seems like a demotion, it’s probably not that significant. The way Tocchet manages his bench, the fourth line and the third line are given similar minutes, and various bottom-six players will likely get opportunities with top-six teammates as the game develops and the bench shortens somewhat. Truthfully, on this team, a player’s role isn’t best described by where they take line rushes during the warmup skate. On opening night, for example, Heinen, Sprong and Räty played the fewest five-on-five minutes among Canucks forwards despite opening the game on the first, second and third lines, respectively. Sherwood, meanwhile, may have opened the game on the fourth line, but finished fifth among all Canucks forwards in five-on-five ice time, which could be fairly described as holding down a top-six role.

Agree. Desharnais was the one who got demoted.
