I still don’t even know what was wrong with him last year? Broken ribs?

It was kept secret for a long time last year. I think it was only in the offseason that it was announced.

So is Nick Seeler now injury prone or just allergic to blocking shots? This is two injuries from blocking shots in the same calendar year. Hopefully he isn't out for weeks like the last time.

I think we ask him to block so many that he inevitably gets hurt. Rather than blocking a million shots I’d love it if they kept possession or regained possession then cleared the zone with speed or a breakout. Too often we go into a phalanx and try to hang on for dear life.

Yeah. I think anyone who watches the team consistently sees this issue.

Regardless, very happy that we’ll start up tonight and I’ll be cheering hard for them as always! Lgf

Who needs puck possession when you have heart and soul guys that will lay out their bodies for the guys in the room with them. Puck in the nuts, the face, the leg, will get you the glorious 1974/75 replica Stanley Cup hat to wear after the game.

I think their protective jocks are carved out of metal from their replica 74/75 Stanley cups. Standard!

He signed an extension, so now he will be perpetually injured. That's life in the land of the Flyers.

I did not even factor in the automatic injury clause of his contract. Good catch.

why do you think that? he s a good top 4 dman.
- hello it's me 2050

He’s an intriguing player. He’s got all the physical tools to be a great player. He just doesn’t seem to think the game very well. There was the thought that he was being misused or held back playing in Buffalo, but his defense is still not great and his offense has all but disappeared since coming to Philly. He’s a physical player, but not a threat to fight. His physicality often takes him out of position. He’s not quite 30 (I think), but, like Coots, has a lot of miles on him and seems to have been dealing with a lot of nagging injuries since coming to the Flyers. Pair all of that with his contract and I just don’t see him as a guy who’s going to bring a lot in a trade.

It was a freak play. Seeler slid face down to block a pass across the slot area and the puck hit the back of his knee which is unprotected by the knee pad. It just happened to hit a nerve which is causing numbness in his foot, and that has taken a lot longer to heal than is typical. I would not say Seeler is injury prone, however at the rate he blocks shots, he is going to be susceptible to broken toes and foot, and even ankle injuries.

Finally our hockey season starts tonight! Can't wait to turn the game on with my usualy excitement and then fall fast asleep before the 1st period ends.

Wish I was more excited. I mean, I'm excited to see the kids play, but sucks going into a season knowing that there is no chance to hoist the Cup at the end. I mean, that is the ultimate goal. Isn't it?

Was able to see a couple of games last night by surprise. I guess NHL Center Ice gives you freebies for the first week of the season to draw you in. Man, the Wings defense looks shoddy!

Well, Biden said if you had a problem figuring out whether to vote for him or Trump then "you ain't black"

So....par for the course.
