Depend on what you mean by elite. Does a guy who has scored 41 and 39 goals, or 91 points count as elite? Maybe, but it certainly qualifies as a legitimate #1 center. Add in Panarin, who IS elite, Fox, and perhaps the best goalie in the league and you can see where Im going with this.
Or how about a guy who has scored 38, 37, 36 and 36 goals in the last 5 seasons? Is that considered elite. Again depends on what you say is elite.
Boston HAD an elite center for a long time. Now they are on the decline IMO as that center has not been replaced. Though maybe Lindholm is that guy now. - MBFlyerfan
Pffftttt. The Room has probably scored 40 goals over the last 5 seasons by himself.
That is (frank)ing elite man

That goal was 3 on 3 pond hockey, but good try. Dumb as dirt as usual . - ClaudeFather
What side of the ice did he score the goal?
What’s your big concern that Michkov would be placed on the left side, but didn’t have the same concern when Foerster was asked to do so as a rookie last year? Do you believe wingers strictly stay to their own sides at 5 on 5 or could both winners switch in play? The last part isn’t a real question in case you couldn’t tell.
Can’t wait for this answer. |

No explanation as to why they weren’t in morning skate? Couturier already in mid season form? - funmaster18
A healthy Couturier and a great goalie tandem, is the key 🔑 to become a bubble 🫧 team. |

“Oh, they’re gonna make a ton of mistakes,” said Tortorella. “The key things with those guys there, especially Michkov, are that he’s more polished right now as an offensive guy. As I’ve said, I don’t want to turn him into a checker; I want him to score some goals for us. He’s going to make some mistakes; he’s going to cheat at certain times. We expect that.”
Torts is going to make Michkov into a responsible checker if it kills him (Michkov). He loved Drysdale's offense when he arrived as well and then a month later was complaining about him. - Flyers_01
He can't help himself. There is no way he is not going to put his imprint on the player. Like Bill said in a recent post. He claims that he is not going to stifle offense and then he stifle's offense.

Here we go again with the 1974-75 talk. It's like an organization doesn't exist if they don't win chips. Some folks are just out of touch with reality. Flyers winning pct. from 1976 to 2005 would be interesting to see. Yeah, I know they have sucked for the last decade + and no one is disputing that, but... - Phillywhiteout
No what else no one is disputing. That you can't figure out that it 2024. As if their winning percentage from 1976 to 2005 means anything now.

As dedicated to you are to the team, and I know you are just by the fact that you’ve moved in your stained, torn, and duct-taped 1970s olive green Lay-Z-Boy into the corner by your hot plate, and yet the promise of a new season feature a bright new star doesn’t tickle your balls even the slightest.
That’s sad, man. You take less time to smell the roses than Sisyphus. - Hesh_
I hope you're able to read this through your orange colored goggles you have on. There is a significant difference between looking forward to watching regular season hockey and wanting to watch a talented young player, play. Than getting excited about the future prospects of this team. Whether that is having tunnel vision and only looking at the top 9 or looking at the team as a whole. I'm not willing to settle and what I see developing, is not promising. What I see developing is another playoff bubble team or perhaps better that will get no where close to being a true contender. When they get some cap space, they'll wheel and deal and do the same crap they always do. A large part of the fan base will foolishly be happy with that. That's sad man. They should raise the bar higher and demand more. You can decide for yourself if you're one of those rose smelling fools.

He may not have always made the right decisions, but he always cared. He always took pride in the team.
Today it’s all corporate.
I don’t care if his “lieutenants” are there or not. The soul is gone. Their decisions are their own. - Hesh_
The decisions are still being made from the same mind set. The same Flyers "standard" and culture BS that they foolishly cling onto.

Just a rust scraped front stoop of misery where you listen to the game on your lawn chair. Frowning and listening to the game grumbling that Gene Hart still isn’t around to call it. Hey, better share my good tidings with all my buddies on Hockeybuzz.

I love this concept for young players.
"What If Luchanko scores zero in nines?? You might stunt his growth and shatter his confidence forever!!"
"Why is Torts playing Michkov on the left side? You're gonna ruin his development!!"
These are such weak takes and the puck hasn’t even dropped yet |

Nah, sports are very good for me. Where you go wrong is thinking that I don't enjoy watching the games. If I didn't, why would I watch. That's just common sense.
Your glasses are defective or maybe you need a new prescription.

It sounds stupid because well, it is. It is the response of a 6th grader with 6th grade brain power. I'm being generous there.

More often than not, honestly. But hey, I was just chillin out and trying to look for a little bright spot, and you act like I’m some sort of jerk that tries to make you miserable on a daily basis around here. Of which there seems to be dozens, by the way.
I didn’t care for it, and so I called you out. Is what it is. Tomorrow is another day.
I might not be feeling so cheery around 1am, we’ll see. Vancouver is a nice team, and awfully far away.
Try to smile, pumpkin. Puck drops at 10
