Nucks coming in as a -194 favorite. Guess the bookies aren't liking the Flyguys in this one. I would have felt more comfortable if the Nucks would have won comfortably the other night rather than blowing a lead. I think they are taking a step back this year though. Tocchet gets old quick and this team overachieved last year. |

I’ve been one of maybe two or three people who haven’t picked a fight you before on this site. Frankly, I’ve agreed with you plenty of times. More often than not, honestly. But hey, I was just chillin out and trying to look for a little bright spot, and you act like I’m some sort of jerk that tries to make you miserable on a daily basis around here. Of which there seems to be dozens, by the way.
I didn’t care for it, and so I called you out. Is what it is. Tomorrow is another day.
I might not be feeling so cheery around 1am, we’ll see. Vancouver is a nice team, and awfully far away.
Try to smile, pumpkin. Puck drops at 10 - Hesh_
I know this isn’t directed at me but keep this in mind.
Unless you go out of your way to get really, really personal. I can’t differ one poster from the next. In my opinion an argument on here is an argument no matter who is apart of it. Chances are (unless you get really personal) there is a good chance I’m gonna forget about you.
This place isn’t “local”. This isn’t like hanging at the bar with the boys. It’s easy mix most of you up. This isn’t even real life no matter how bad you guys believe it to be. |

Getting my goat.
I've told you before, the only reason I interact with you is for the sheer entertainment. - MJL Right! And you have swamp land in south Florida to sell me too.

I guess that's how were different. I don't see it as a fight. I saw it as a conversation. I did no such thing. I simply pointed out what I saw as the flaws in your viewpoint.
I fail to see the logic of those who think that those who are critical of the team, are miserable. That's not common sense. That a fan who has invested in the team, doesn't have every right to be critical and point out the issues.
It seems to me that most of the jolly happy Flyers fans can't show how those who are critical of the team are wrong. So they just label them as misrable
Like I said, I didn't view it as a fight but if you keep coming back with condescending nonsense such as "try to smile, pumpkin" I might.

Frankly aside from a few characters, I can’t tell one from another half the time.
I fly in for a bit, and then I disappear. It’s not that important.

The pumpkin remark was supposed to be light.
That whole last post was a “let’s forget about it. No worries post.”
So in case it was too shrouded prior -
let’s forget about it. No worries.
I was also just playin with you a little. Gettin descriptive about stoop scrapes and hot plates. I mean, cmon. |

I'm not offended by you. Which is why I said I didn't view it as a fight. I think debate and disagreement is healthy. We want the same thing. I just think some are misguided on what is happening or on how and what needs to happen.
So, in order to move the conversation along, I'll offer this. The Flyers undoubtedly feel that they are the tail end of their rebuild and it will soon be "go" time. When in reality, the addition of Michkov and possibly Lunchanko, is really just the beginning of it. |

I called someone else puddin’ earlier, too. Can’t remember who. Figured you could see I was joking then, as well.
It’s always funny to see how people react to stuff like that. Usually they’re used to swears, slander, and homophobic slurs.

They shouldn’t. It’s a tough start to the season.
JT Miller might be the biggest star nobody talks about, by the way. |

So why do they keep making a point of telling fans that it’s going to take a while? |

Because they currently don't have any cap flexibility or cap space to do what they want to do. That's all this is, is a pause. It's not a rebuild, it's a pause until they get more cap space.
They added a few draft picks, got a player with elite talent in Michkov. Now all they need is some cap space so they can make some trades and sign some players. It will be Fletcher and the past, all over again. |

Depend on what you mean by elite. Does a guy who has scored 41 and 39 goals, or 91 points count as elite? Maybe, but it certainly qualifies as a legitimate #1 center. Add in Panarin, who IS elite, Fox, and perhaps the best goalie in the league and you can see where Im going with this.
Or how about a guy who has scored 38, 37, 36 and 36 goals in the last 5 seasons? Is that considered elite. Again depends on what you say is elite.
Boston HAD an elite center for a long time. Now they are on the decline IMO as that center has not been replaced. Though maybe Lindholm is that guy now. - MBFlyerfan
Pasta, McAvoy and Marchand... whether any of them are a center or not is really besides the point. They're all elite players and that's what MJL was alluding to. All legit contenders have multiple elite players.
Flyers need much more than just Michkov if they hope to compete -- assuming he even turns out to be elite. |

Jones said again recently that they're stuck between "guardrails" until the cap clears up in 2-years, then they can get back to the business of signing UFAs.

We definitely need Michkov to be the real deal. I think the overwhelming majority believe but we still have to let his legacy play out. |

I never once thought I was special over anyone else on here. I'm just letting you know that you can't get at me. It's strictly for the laughs with you and I appreciate it.

If there is an argument to be had, hockey or not, no matter how stupid, it will be found here. Michkov is gonna look pretty lost tonight playing his off wing. He probably won’t even know where the net is. |
