I don’t hate Torts. If I notice a question decision, I’ll say how I feel. Personally I don’t think it matters where Luchanko plays in October but to make myself very clear, Luchanko really shouldn’t be here at all. I think he’s here because Torts doesn’t have a lot of faith in his other centers.
Now as far as fans go, they’re spinning narratives and looking too hard for problems. Luchanko sitting in game 2 for Cates isn’t a real problem, especially for a kid who has been playing hockey all summer. - roenick97
Well said! I'm willing to see how it all plays out before I declare that everything we do is a disaster.

I kinda disagree a bit. I’m totally fine with the 9 games for a high draft pick IF he can play and kinda keep up and is physically mature enough to NOT get injured. Let him get a taste to see what it’s like and see the speed of game and all that so when they do eventually make the move to the big team they don’t have that shock period of nhl. At least it will give them a better idea. |

So your response to someone explaining something to you is to insult them? Being one of the smartest people on this board is a low bar with people like you who seem to feel threatened by other people's opinions.

Better period for the flyers in terms of winning face-offs. That gave them more possession and thus the ability to shoot more. The problem is with a small goalie they need to be picking corners high, but all of their shots are going into his pads and into his chest, Flyers have had this problem in the past. They’ve got to learn to snipe better. Also see a weakness with Fedotov he is weak high to the stick side. |

Is this sarcasm? The flyers have had a bunch of empty shots to the goalies chest and given up a bunch of grade A chances - ClaudeFather
According to mjl shot attempts tells the story of who dominates game to contradict what the eyes see |

Truly bizarre to have Luchanko up to start the season and sit him in game 2.
Go Flyers! - funmaster18
Pretty random from Torts, Briere, Jonsey, LeClair, or whoever is in charge at the county club. |

There’s no reason for Luchanko to be here. Feeling the speed of the game right now isn’t a good enough reason. |

Just giving you what was said. I myself don’t rule out anything. - furio16
Thanks and I agree...can't rule out anything. The thing is we don't know what goes on behind the scenes even though experts like MJL claim that Torts manipulates anyone and everyone. I'm sure he is a presence, but still don't buy that he calls all the shots like some experts on here claim. |

Keep shooting. Doesn’t matter where from. As long as they have more shot attempts they will dominate. Don’t let the scoreboard or your eyes deceive you.

I’m fine either way. By no means do I want him beyond the 9 games. That should only be for elite talent players this young. And the 9 games imo should really only be for those that can kinda keep up and very likely to make team in year or 2. Higher end player types. Even fine with them taking a few games off in between the first 9 games. Basically gig in by the player a month or so in the big show. But send them down after. It’s not gonna hurt them at all. |

It’s not only for speed of the game. They have to be able to kinda keep up. 17 did keep up last game. Wasn’t great but wasn’t horrible either. And he’s physically mature enough to handle a 9 game stint |

They problem with numbers and they can tell you whatever you want them to. Watching the game has to come first, then look into the numbers to validate if what you think you see is reality. Lots of shots but Wolf did not have to make hard saves. |

The coach has a huge say as to what goes on at the NHL level. That is pretty clear. Not sure how anyone can disagree. |

Also. Don’t love poels on the top pp unit. Seperate point. Sn announcers notice same thing we do. Can’t elevate the puck on wolf. |

You see this is my problem with frost. This is the second time now he’s been in the slot area in prime position to shoot and he’s looking to pass. He’s got to shoot that puck. |

What other coaches have the final say on how the roster is constructed? |

We don’t know if Torts has the final say but I would imagine that a coach with a pretty long resume has a say on who makes his team and who doesn’t. |

Does this game count against Jett’s 9? I would imagine not, but he hasn’t been sent down either. I dunno the ins and outs of that rule.

No, its number of games he plays, not number of team games |
