First! Just wondering if Edmonton is going to continue to have a slow start or will they thump us good. |

I pay enough for cable. I am not buying an antenna. This should have been taken care of before the season started. When they become a professional organization, I will start watching. I hear they are getting sued again over the logo. |

Confused about this buying into the next step…..what step? This is a vet laden team of retreads. The next step is winning more games? So the hawks don’t pick top3?
Winning establishes a winning culture. No reason for the Hawks to start winning yet. Hawks are still short a couple blue chip forward prospects. Probably both centers. Not sold on Bedard being a center yet.

I would tend to think that they will be looking to clean our clocks this game. They got whooped 6-0 to open and they don't want to start the season with 2 losses. Especially now playing a potential top 5 picking team. The EDM natives would not be pleased.... But we have a decent record against them lately and we've played pretty good for most of the 2 games. But, I'm thinking they eek by us 5-3 with an ENG. Hope I got the numbers reversed! |

Edmonton's forward group should be a real handful for the Hawks to contain. The question is what kind of goaltending is Edmonton going to get, as we know it can be a huge inconsistency for them. I hope we get an entertaining game either way! |

Using Winnipeg as a baseline, on paper it will be a 4-2 Chicago win. On paper. |

You can make the Icehogs opening game your first choice to listen/watch before the Blackhawks game starts. Rockford vs Grand Rapids 7pm
Grand Rapids (Detroit farm team) is a top team featuring Hirose, Kasper, Danielson and the goaltender Cossa as they shut out a Milwaukee (Nashville team) last night. The Admirals themselves have a lot of good prospects plus Hinozstra was assigned |

The Wirtz's and Reinsdorf can both go pound sand. Been following both the Hawks and Sox for over 60 years, and now this total BS ?!?! I'm done !! |

Or an NHL player. He should've jumped to the bigs as a complete player like Kaner did as an 18 yo.
The next step is to be more competitive and not have a season like the last one where they were getting blown out in games regularly. Maybe they pick top 3 maybe they don't. |

Took my 8 yr old granddaughter to her acting class and then went to Venice Beach,CA., but first walked the “canal streets.”
So now I have avoided being home for a hurricane but plan to be home by Tuesday when the power is back on.
Helene left us with no incidents (while my neighbors took on water in their houses and are already re-placing wallboard and their floors for fear of mold.)
We all were lucky that the storm center of this last one was below our neighborhood the southernmost part of St. Petersburg so after the water exited Tampa Bay, the deluge of rain was able to go into the sewers and actually drain in the bay without flooding this time. The winds were strong, and I lost to fence panels, but I count myself lucky and happy I live in this area.
Maybe new stronger storms from global warming will change that opinion in the future, but not right now.
I have watched both Blackhawk games and really felt bad for Solderblöm’s shut out loss.
The good side is that it is two in the lost column with the 2024 lottery in waiting. |

Bedard not an NHL player? Lol come on. I’ll assume that was red font. |

Right - and that starts with mindset. Mindset (at this point), never is expected to end up in actual results, but the thinking needs to swap over into this mode -otherwise 'moral victories' end up being good enough ... maybe in peewee hockey, sometimes. I expect nothing - but don't want any more of the 'oh well, we tried hard, and it just wasn't there'. |

One thing I think different right now from this time last year, the team has a bit more of an identity and more guys are fitting into roles. Some of the guys have started to play together enough to build a bit more chemistry. That was challenging the last couple seasons before with the fire sale of moving players. |

There are 3 young guys in the lineup. The players developing an identity are all gone in 2 years.
This seems rushed by a year or so. Maybe they didn’t want to expose Bedard to two years of absolutely bad hockey? Moved up the timeline? or maybe hoping top 5 still while building a bit of an indentity and culture? |
