Absolutely....my concern is that Chicago doesn't do Offense well always been Defense and I hope they have the right people in place to continue to move forward getting better each time out
- BGKarras

I'm hoping they go the route of no huddle Peyton Manning offense. He looks like he understands what the defense is trying to do already

They have 3 picks in the top 50 or so next year, two stud OL and a DE will start to make this a difference making team. If he had 1 to 1.5 sec longer to pass, he'd be close to unstoppable

Going to need another S or two also, love Brisker, but you can't have a long career with a Concussion every year. (though i'm not sure most NFL'ers don't get concussed at least once a year, i just think you don't know it.)

Spot on they look way better and it keeps the defence out there without package changes. Still early but I like what I see so far

You know if we don't play in our own end all night and look like a hockey team that can compete most nights, i take back what i said about Reichel he can just sit there and wait.

After the sh itty 1st period against the Yotes this team has played really good hockey for 159 minutes.

- BetweenTheDots

You know when Reichel finally does dress for a game it's gonna be interesting. We've seen them try everything to find a way to unlock the kid except put him with a bunch of legit NHLers.

Maybe he's a fit with these 24/25 Hawks? He should feel the urgency of every shift once he finally dresses. .... The definition of an enigma.

Being a Bears fan for 50 years, i think the Bears finally got the QB position right. Finally
- BetweenTheDots

Other than the throw to Moore that got picked, Williams had another solid day and the kind which I think are going to be more the norm than the exception.

It's nice to see a Bear QB averaging more than 200 yards passing a game and making td throws inside the red zone with relative ease.

Probably going to need to sign a FA tackle or guard.
Everything I've read about next year's draft is that it isn't all that loaded with O tackles/guards. Not any worth drafting where the Bears will be drafting at least.
A good center can be drafter with their 2nd rd pick,or they can even trade down and get a good center in the 3rd round.
They look like they still need help opposite of Sweat.
Cap space+ draft capital looks good. As long as they don't do something stupid like draft a Cedric Benson,or a Shea Mclellin they should be ok.

The moment he let the ball go I said that doesn't look like it is going to go far enough.
He was either late at seeing Moore wide open,or he underthrew him. Not sure what happened other than a brain fart. Grossman had tons of those

Hopefully Poles has learned his lesson with Davis and the Claypool trade.

Davis's money wasn't an issue, and was mostly up front first two years, he can be cut for much cheaper after this year.

A few draft picks, a few more solid FA signings and they'll be very competitive.

If they have their QB, makes the rest of the roster building much easier than if not.

Two good Tackles at LSU, both will be top 20 picks. LT will be gone, but the RT may be available. I'd move Jenkins back to RG next Wright, they dominated. They switched him back becuawe of Davis, another reason why i care for that guy much.

And is Matthew Schaefer that guy? I’ve seen him a few times and he may very well may be better than any defenseman currently in the Hawk’s system
- paulr

If that’s true take him. Teams always covet good D prospects and the Hawks have a lot. Can go trade for good young forwards.

It is tough to go to the coach and ask to be put in when the team wins, or plays well. I suspect this will reach a point when they attempt to trade him for another non-advancing youngster, but don't hold your breath for Zegras...

If Davis is dropped they eat the contract.

It is curious they added the guy after he seemed to be show the same issues with the team before the Bears...

Do you give a Soderblom one more start as a reward before he goes back to Rockford, barring injury probably forever?

He certainly has lots of jump and was very noticiable in international play, and will (should) be the first defender taken.

I think that it all depends upon where they draft.

I think Schaefer is a top three pick.

If the hawks WIn. the lottery, I have to think it will be a difficult decison on deciding whether Porter Martone IS the big future scorer phyical winger I would like them to add, or not over thinking James Hagens as another smaller scoring generator.

But let's say they do not win the lottery and simpy pick, (saving there Lotto luck for Bedard's cousin in law LW-C Gavin McKenna...wouldn't That be something?)

Roger McQueen is large and very nimble on his skates but a guy you wait for.
I am staying in North America with the first pick if it is in that 5-10 range.
Michael Misa hasn't shown dominance in junior (just b/c you get in early, doesn't mean you develop dominance early) but is a decent prospect.
Some think the Quebec Martine HL's centre Caleb Desnoyers as a decent early choice too.

I would have Malcolm Spence to the the addition, if the guys above get selected before our hawk pick. I like fire in my guys and he also has some.

Will take a goal and 3 assists and being hockey dumb I guess. :D

Yeah, I am bored with the Seth Jones bad mouthing that has gone on forevere here.

At about 7:04 left in the second, in the hawk zone, only our goalie and Jones where in front of the zones sole Oiler attacker; I saw a defenseman in Jones who was able to quickly adjust and change his pursuit to close down the look with feet and balance you don;t see in many defenders.

That’s the issue. He can make elite plays but he also makes far too many horrible lazy plays.

Justin completing another “field day”

The English folks would call it a Sports day insofar as c Williams performance today

Has he has a passing TD, we know his feet work in football.

Iheard the Steelers elite receivers aren't getting open on the mid routes, but he was never good at making those throws either.

No more often than the rest of the Hawks D, he just gets way less slack because he has a bit contract.

So hard to forget Reichel's 23 in 15 on the late call up 2 yrs ago after he was near a point per game in the AHL. Add when the every 10 game quick twitch/burst the kid shows exploding thru the middle of the ice and that's what we all hang on to, Hawks included.

They've tried him everywhere except with a competent roster and nothing has clicked. If he fails this time/yr the vast majority will side with you....... Gun to my head prediction, I'd say GMing ain't easy and probably you're on the smart money.

Edit: Maybe TT being around is the key to unlock him. They both have similar traits and styles.
