Rocket Sports: Early Reactions: Too Soon for the Montreal Canadiens to Shake Things Up? - RocketSports
concerning the habs opening ceremony, I have to respectfully disagree with Amy about not presenting Carey Price being a "disgrace". I get that they presented injured players but these were guys that are going to come back and play this year, as opposed to Carey who will not play an NHL game ever again. if anything it might've been more awkward to present him as part of the team, in my humble opinion. |

Agreed. And I wouldn't be surprised if Carey asked to not be pointed out. |

Thanks for listening and for your comment, Pat! I appreciate your input on the Carey Price item...and I certainly understand your perspective on it. My feeling was strong mainly due to the fact that the Canadiens had made a point to showcase the Price family on their social media channels prior to the ceremony, so since they were there and he's technically still part of the team (albeit not going to play, yes) that they could have acknowledged his presence. In any case, thank you again for a polite exchange and for listening to the show - enjoy the game tonight! Go Habs Go! |

this definitely could be the case, yeah. maybe he'll come back in some other capacity in a few years but my impression is that for now he simply wants to be away from the spotlight as much as possible.

thanks Amy for the quick reply!
I get where you're coming from, personally he's one of my favorite habs ever (first one being Roy...), seeing him is always nice in a way, but I feel like he wanted to move away from that. could be wrong though, he's always been the shy type lol.
anyway good podcast, looking forward to exchanges like these, go habs go!! |

Good start for the boys ... we're all over them so far.
EDIT: Cole l'a mis où maman cache les biscuits. |

MTL is a better team, a better coached team than OTT. MTl needs to be patient, OTT is going to enter a 2nd rebuild after this season when they finish in the bottom 10 again. not even ullmark can save OTT. |

Mea Culpa! ... when one is wrong, one must have the humility to admit it.
Before the start of the season, I predicted that Mailloux would make the team and Hutson would be sent to Laval to gain more experience as a pro.
I was obviously wrong as Mailloux didn't have a good enough camp to make the team. He's obviously a slow starter ... hopefully he'll come back up to speed quickly. |

i have seen a few analysts saying Hutson would win the Calder. |

Me too. I am amazed at how good he is looking. I thought he might have a tough time adapting to the big league, but it is going swimingly so far. |

that's cool Garf, admitting when you're wrong is a sign of wisdom
but this kind of thing happens all the time, predicting how players will pan out can almost be a guessing game lol.
anyway Hutson hasn't stopped being impressive, he's so smart with the puck and has been very consistent with his play so far. |

Wouldn't surprise me as he's definitively something different, he's like a 4th forward out there who creates many offensive chances.
Before the season, I wasn't convinced he was ready for the show with the big boys and an 82 games schedule. It appears I was wrong and I'm actually happy about it. |

Just wanted to set the record straight, I'm not afraid to admit it when I'm wrong.
Hutson is very impressive indeed and so much fun to watch, we haven't had a lot of those players over the years ... I love the kid! |

Solid first period and been a very lacklustre second by the Habs. Gotta compete and fight more. To flat with a game still up for grabs. |

I think Monty decided he wants to make team Canada and he won't let in a goal all year.
But more seriously, he's been very sharp over the last 2 games he's played ... I hope I didn't just jinxed him. |

sure but a pushback from OTT was also to be expected... teams rarely dominate their opposition for a whole 60 minutes.
Monty looking great again tonight, nice to see.

he's been playing like a legit #1 goalie, hopefully he keeps it up and makes all the haters eat crow.

I’m fine with pushback. I’m not ok with lazy plays. Seen a few of em. Gotta wake up asap IMO. Getting dominated this period.
Edit: Slaf went to the dressing room early, hasn’t been back. Hopefully nothing. |

it's a cool story too, a Quebecer goalie gets claimed on waivers and becomes the habs starter, potentially plays for Team Canada... |
