In GM mode in capwages I made a trade with Buffalo,
Farabee/Hathaway
for
Rosen & unprotected 24 1st pick
Hoping I am close, I like Farabee but he plays like Kevin Hayes (when he wants to) and if the puck isn't close he coasts way too much. He has good skills but only uses them sparingly. Buffalo is looking for a down low player that's why i included Hathaway. - Flyerloon
They don’t need another middling winger in farabee |

I think your selling low on Farabee and he is on a friendly deal. Also Hathaway was just resigned so not sure they are moving him.
Also I don't see Buffalo doing that trade.

In my opinion, your description of Farabee as a player is not accurate. For discussion purposes, lets say that it is. Why then is Buffalo going to give up a quality prospect and an unprotected 1st for him?

Farabee would fit in on 2 line lw for buffalo and they are dying for a player like hathaway. To me the value is there. |

Doesn't answer the question. Dying for a player like Hathaway? He's a 4th line player in the NHL. Out of one side you're criticizing Farabee and basically calling him lazy and then saying the value is there. To the point of Buffalo giving up one of their top prospects and an unprotected 1st rounder.

I wonder if he has noticed Johnson and Drysdale's struggles. Fortunately for the Flyers, Sanheim and York have been very good so far through two games and Ristolainen is serviceable. - MJL
Drysdale can only pray he has a career like del zotto

Torts ran Z out there 19min in both games, so seems like he's either letting the kid play thru his struggles or he hasn't noticed him struggling at all. - Tomahawk

I would hope so. Drysdale has been brutally bad in the first two games of the season.

He looks as soft as Charmain toilet paper and he provides no offense that I can see. Already a -3 on the season and sometimes (in Friday's game) he looks downright lost. Perhaps I'm being too harsh? I dunno... |

It's not too harsh and it's accurate in my opinion. Don't want to put a permanent mark on the player yet but he needs to drastically improve.

Still early days in the season but he's been useless at both ends so far. |

Would you be opposed to trying to make a trade for a d partner to pair with Drysdale who can be part of the future. In similar fashion to NYR getting Trouba a little before they took off. - J35Bacher
Any ideas? Any rumors? |

It could be feasible with Couturier on LTIR. |

Well said. It’s early yet but he has not looked good at all. He can’t play a lick of defense at the moment. I’ll give it time but the excuses are over for the kid. Clean bill of health and he needs to develop.
He didn’t impress me in the preseason games I watched in person. Kid is a pure skater but he needs a lot of work. |

Give him some rope. He needs a ton of games after injuries & he is still unexperienced. |

We really don’t have a choice. We’ve got to play him with the hopes he finds his game. I’m certainly worried. |

I agree that: a) The Flyers had plenty of lead time to better prepare for Vancouver and Calgary knowing that Seeler was almost certain to be unavailable, and b) Johnson is the No. 7 at this end stage of his NHL career.
But I don't know if it should always be EJ out under any and all circumstances.
Zamula was below par in both Vancouver and Calgary and Andrae can step into (and be an upgrade) on PP2. Johnson sealing off the wall started the SHG sequence in Calgary and he gets his sliver of credit for the 5-for-5 PKing personnel credit (with Ersson getting the biggest piece) on Friday.
I'm OK with Johnson out in Edmonton, especially given that Zamula is far more mobile. I'm OK with Zamula out because he flat out did not play well enough the first two games. Either which way, it's a spot of concern in the lineup, knowing that the weakest link tends to get exposed by better opponents. - bmeltzer
I think Andrae should have flat out made the team over Zamula. I’m within the belief the Flyers should have took 8 D out west to begin the season and on a healthy roster, Seeler and Andrae play ahead of Johnson and Zamula on opening night.
I don’t dislike Zamula but I don’t think he’s done anything special to earn himself PP time or to play anything past 16-17 minutes a night. I also haven’t heard a really good reason as to why he’s on the big club outside of fear of losing him to waivers (one year ago) and being able to translate for Michkov (this year). I’ve liked what I’ve seen from Andrae a lot more. |

Well he is 6 inches taller and 11 pounds heavier on the league's lightest team that is near the bottom in height ...
I have no idea why the Flyers do the things they do. |
