Well, to be fair, new goalie coach Jeff Malcolm was first hired as a consultant 6 years ago. So, he had ample time to learn from the master and get familiar with the organization and the goalies he's working with. Either way, I'm liking what I'm seeing so far!! Aside from Igor's game against Utah, but I'm willing to label that as an outlier at this point. - Tonybere
Also- Benoit is as "not" involved as Sather was not after he retired |

Panarin vs Devils in 2022 was his lowest point. The embarrassment of that series motivated him to shave his head and have his best season ever last year and a pretty good playoff until Florida suffocated him. (Like they did Kucherov and Pastrnak in earlier rounds)
Now the motivation of not producing vs Florida is prompting him to a real shot at an Art Ross trophy.
And you just have to believe as a Ranger fan that he’s finally really gonna come through in the 2025 playoffs.
Because we are fans and that’s what we do. - jimbro83
Loved how all 3 of his goals came from different areas of the ice. Feel like when he gets shut down in the post season, he keeps trying the same things over and over again. Maybe an area of focus for him in the offseason. |

Also, maybe everyone else involved is realizing that we don't have to just wait for Mika to figure out his poop. If he doesn't get hot soon, I'd make him the focus of PP2 and move up Laffy. His chemistry with Bread and Troch would keep them going without missing a beat. |

i didn't see much of the preseason, but i recall someone saying in here Lav was running the PP1/PP2 with the regular lines (bread/laf/vin then mika/kreider/whoever). Did that actually happen or am i making that up
If so, wonder why he went back to the normal unit. Would much prefer laf on PP1 -once he is extended of course |

I agree in theory but the PP is clicking again so I'm not sure I'd mess with it. While Mika isn't scoring on the PP, that unit has clear chemistry and while Laf is playing better than Mika right now, he has a different skill set that may throw off that chemistry.
As soon as the PP goes through a dry spell that would be my first move though |

It’s just funny cause Zib wasn’t even needed on the ice during the powerplay last night and they still scored 3 times. Don’t know why they don’t just try Laf. His value isn’t needed to keep that top powerplay unit elite |

A big factor is having two guys who can take face offs on the PP in case one gets tossed |

I saw just about all of the pre-season and I don't remember that. I could easily be wrong with the state of my memory!! But, I feel like I remember seeing the regular PP1 unit from the start.
I have noticed that after a penalty Lavi has been going back to the "kid" line!! 13-72-24. |

True, I just think we can unlock laf even more. Imagine the confidence he will have knowing he is fully on the top powerplay producing. He is great now, scary to think how much better he can be |

I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything.
I just say that because of the major difference between the mindsets that cause you to say "I'll believe it when I see it." rather than "He's looking good. I'm hopeful he takes that step."
You are entitled to your opinions and beliefs. I just hate when I'm in a depressed state that leads me to think negatively. Life is good, man. Be positive!! |

The rangers through 4 games look like a top 3 team in the league. Hard not to be positive about them right now. Just need to stay healthy and maybe add that one extra piece at the deadline for more depth |

5 goals/gm clip on offense is a good recipe to win games. This without Mika scoring but 1 empty net goal. |
