Erik Johnson is a like a Hot Pocket that spent 10 minutes on high in the microwave. Totally cooked. - Feanor
He's not totally cooked. He been OK so far this season, though I don't believe he should be playing this much as the season moves along. Clearly when Seeler returns EJ will sit. I would still like to find a way to get Andrae in the lineup, even if it means platooning with Zamula. EJ should ultimately be the 8th defenseman.

No, he hasn't been OK. He's been bad. Both Johnson and Drysdale have been terrible.
Everything you posted here is complete nonsense. When a team is rebuilding, developing players always comes before winning. Johnson is not serviceable. He's trending quickly towards being ready to retire. He has not been good. The Flyers would have a blend of vets and young players. There is zero reason to play Johnson over Andrae. - MJL
In this game I think EJ should play over Andrae. Throwing Andrae into this game would IMO be detrimental to his development. Moving forward Shaw needs to find a way to get Andrae into the lineup, maybe platoon with Zamula or EJ once Seeler gets back into the lineup.

Even if you really believe EJ has been OK, making Drysdale play the left side is stupid. The kid has enough to do deal with getting his career back on track.

Well, I actually watch the games, not look at the naturalstattrick. EJ has been servicable from what I have seen. Drysdale has not looked good, up and down but that is to be expected given what Torts said about him in camp, that he needs to be coached because right now Drysdale doesn't know what he is doing out there.
lol. yeah EJ is who I want against a team like the oilers. he will be able to keep up. if andrae cant play the less than 14 minutes EJ is playing then he will never be ready.
few days ago singing andrae praises how it is a disgrace he isnt playing. pure entertainment

So when you watch the games (all two of them) and see EJ is getting out shot by a 2:1 ratio in limited minutes, your reaction is - looks good.

how long before torts separates himself from JD and that trade.
One thing Torts said yesterday about the PP was very encouraging. As you all know, I have posted many times that to me the most important thing for a PP to succeed is chemistry or continuity between the players, and that can't happen if Torts is constantly changing the units. Well Torts said yesterday that Rocky has been on his ass about keeping the units together so that is what he is going to do. Nice acknowledgement from Torts that he gets impatient and he is at least trying adjust his approach. I am also glad to hear that Rocky gets it also! This is a big step IMO.

Andrae is NHL ready and was declared so a year ago by Flahr. One game against any opponent will not be detrimental. Shaw does not make lineup decisions.

You, may as well say that Andrae is not capable of being and NHL player. With the young forwards Tortorella has said he knows the young guys will make mistakes and that is part of the learning process to be an NHL player.
If Andrae is good enough to call up he is good enough to play against anyone. If he can't handle playing against top players then he shouldn't be the first callup.
Two days that live in Flyers infamy. Even if you hated Ghost, you could have just let his contract run out in another year. Instead, Chuck paid thru the nose to acquire Risto and gave him a big extension, and now he's about to turn 30 and can't even carry a 2nd pairing.

Why do you even try to equate a stat like this to a single player?? It makes you look foolish to be honest. You are assuming that the only reason his LINE is getting outshot is because of EJ. That's nonsense. Watch the games!

Your first comment makes you look even dumber than normal. Again, you're also reinforcing that you have zero ability to accurately assess a player.

You're not smart enough to realize that those that actually have the ability to accurately assess a player by watching the game, see something different than you think you see. Then the statistical data supports their opinion and refutes yours. When you repeatedly make comments like watch the game, or someone has never played. It just makes you look like an even bigger jackass.
I've missed watching the last 2 games due to the flu...can anyone tell me how Tippett has been doing? I haven't seen Bill mention him in the post-game wraps; has he been quietly effective or just slow to start things off this season?

0 goals - but pretty sure he will pot 50 this year
EJ has bern mediocre at best, but he’s been better than both Drysdale and Zamula. I know they probably feel that Drysdale just needs to play and shake off the rust, but why not sit Zamula for a game and give Andrae a look? He has pp experience at every other level so he can replace him there as well.
Finally, you can split the top pair on the pk and go with:
Sanheim-Risto
York-EJ
