Jerry Jones is the least self-aware NFL owner and also has a thin skin. He threatened the radio hosts jobs on the air for asking about his roster mistakes after that debacle yesterday.
"..This is not your job. Your job isn't to let me go over the reasons that I did something and I'm sorry that I did it. That's not your job.
"That's not your job or I'll get somebody else to ask these questions, men. No, no. I'm not kidding." |

He didn't just enter the league, he's been here for 4 years. He's missed significant time but he has played 149 games.
I'm not asking that he be a finished product but he should be better than he is. If not for the significant capital used to acquire him, he'd probably be in the pressbox.
I don't feel he's developed at all since the Flyers acquired him last January.

You do realize 149 games is less than 2 seasons right? He played One 81 game season. That means over the course of 3 seasons he played 68 games. You arent developing by playing 24 games because of the COVID lockdowns, 8 games due to injury and then 34 games due to injuries again and even then you he was playing hurt through those 34 games

We’re lucky to have you, Bill. One of the best hockey guys! - mikeyo27
He is certainly the authentic gold standard. Not the "gold" the guys from the country club is talking about. |

He has played enough to play half decently and to show potential. He is not showing that right now.

That's ok, the coaching staff will turn him into an overpaid 3rd pair defenseman like they did with Risto.

I think its very plausible that Drysdale can improve and become a decent player. However that's not what the Flyers need. They traded a potential elite player for him due to their massive screw up. I have serious doubts that Drysdale ever becomes a top pairing puck moving defenseman that this team so desperately needs. If he doesn't, unless Gauthier busts, that will make the trade a potential bust.

It is very possible that JD is thinking the game through each and every shift. In other words, not playing instinctively. Which we both know will slow his overall play down.
He is most likely getting different input from Torts and Shaw, than he received in Anaheim. More so on the defensive side of his game, given their back rounds. Yes, we don’t know if he ever turns into that puck moving defenseman we’re hoping for but, like you said earlier, definitely going to take more time while he’s trying to round out his complete game. I’m just thinking and hoping when he plays the game on his natural abilities and without processing every shift, he should play better and faster.
And yes, it’s also a shame he will be forever tied to the cutter deal. Not his fault. |

significant capital - 2Real
Whether Cutter ends up being crap or a HOFer...a 5th overall pick better be considered "significant capital"

The book is definitely not finished being written concerning Drysdale. He's still in that realm of potential that could absolutely blossom into a proper puck-carrying minutes eating defender. He just hasn't shown it yet. |

Please stop bringing up Cutter. The Flyers bungled that and they were able to save some face by bringing Drysdale over. |
