I’d like to see Hall and Bertuzzi get going. - Angotti
Yep, before one or both gets hurt. .... Those two neutral zone reads then picks by Kurashev need to turn into danger in a blink. Need the other two forwards to read that too, support the play and transition quick.

Hoping for another solid effort, Hawks have really played just about as well as they can outside of the Utah 1st period. The guys are really battling for each other, just would like to see better passing and more puck possession. It would be incredible to come home 2-1-1 to start the season with all the games on the road. However, I am predicting 4-1 Calgary. Bedard with the only Hawks score. - ChicagoHope passing and offensive pressure consistently imo have the problem up to now it will take some time gel.
My lines:
Hall Bedard tevo
Bert kurashev Mikheyev
Anderson Richardenson Foligno
Smith Donato Maroon
Valsic Jones
Martinez brodie
Kaiser/Allen Murphy
At some point need to put Reichel in for 5 or 6 games in top 6 role and see if takes the ball and runs with it or flames out again.

Keep shootin, Bedard. ......Vlasic played his PP minutes below the dots practically. Love to see him rewarded. |

Sit AA and Smith play Donato and Reichel.
I know they won’t sit Murphy. But if they played Allen and sat Murphy I would not mind. |

Conner Murphy is not getting moved, at least not until he is on permanent LTIR. |

That's because they only have one finisher.
This team is easy to defend - stop Bedard, stop the Blackhawks. |

Didn't stay up to watch the game.
How did the Bedard/Turbo/Foligno line do?
98 - 1 goal through 4 games - no bueno.
He had 6 or 7 SOG which is good. Hopefully he hits a hot streak soon.
Is it possible they need Kurashev or Hall up their to help? |

He had one in his first five games last season. He keeps putting 7 SOG during a game, they'll go in.
Idk about line juggling already. They had 32 SOG last night and essentially 3 penalties in the middle frame did them in. They still mostly outplayed or at least matched the play of a CGY team that started the season hot. |

I’d like to see the fancies from last night, because they seemed to have had the better of the play. They need that second line to start putting the puck in the net, that will also help the Bedard line. |

Sharks might be a good game to start that trend. Hall is a few years removed from being an MVP player and coming off injury but all those guys have shown they can score. Right now the only guy on that line with a goal is probably the one with the most questions in terms of can he score w/o a player like Bedard flanking him.

I’m also fine with their salary cap phobia. We know what the opposite gets us.
I wish they’d give Kaiser-Allan a try. Both can skate and make solid plays, unlike the guy who is somehow the cemented 5th defenseman. - ObeseOprah
The opposite is inevitable. |

Any explanation why Donato is sitting. I thought he has been one of the best forwards in the first 3 games.
- LAHawk
In my eyes he has been one of their best forwards since preseason. If they were scratching him to play a youngster it would make more sense, but for Smith/AA, that doesn’t make any sense. But hey, there’s bigger fish to fry than worrying about a fourth liner. - Angotti

Sounds like this game was about as bad as the USMNT game I had on instead. |

The opposite of salary cap phobia gets you 3 Cups.
They are going to need to spend to the cap to compete for a Cup. Whether it is signing their own players because they are good or going after a Marner type.

Richardinson's line was the best fancy stat wise. Bedard's line is getting the opportunities
Kurashev's line does not look cohesive, but if your first and third line is working, and you are not going to sit or make any on that line 4th liners, you just have to hope they figure it out.

Foligno has not scored 20 goals or 40 points in 8 years. Do you really want him on your top line?
I really like D!ckinson on the 3rd line. But he is your 2nd best center. Give him a shot on the 2nd line.
Hall Bedard TT
Bertuzzi D!ckinson Kurashev
Foligno Mikheyev Anderson
Maroon Donato Reichel
Reichel may not have earned playing time. But is it more important to get him on the ice somewhere than AA or Smith? I think so. |

Probably not, but who else are you going to play there right now? He is producing and quite effective on that line. Bertuzzi didn't seem to click in the coaches eyes and Mikheyev is right where he needs to be.
If anyone says Reichel, I'm going to vomit. |

The players, coaches and management have all stated that they want/need to establish clear roles for players and lines this year, hence D!ckinson will not be moving off the 3rd line unless/until injuries dictate it. |

I am sure they would, if they could. But who wants a speed skater with no other apparent talent for $4.25 mil or even $2.125 mil per year.
