What is your obsession with developing 4th line C. No nhl team is trying to develop 4th line guys. Those players grow on trees. Flyers overpay because they aren't contenders. If you want the most coveted players you either jave to be a contender or overpay - xShoot4WarAmpsx
you trying to defend the flyers at every turn is chivalrous.
imagine being a non contender and have over 11 million tied up on your 4th line and 2 forward scratches. does that seem like good business to you? yes or no? |

Again….it’s 3 games. Am I sold on him being able to reach a level that represents what a top end draft pick should be ? Unfortunately no. Hopefully we will start to see improvements. I’ve just said I think he will and should be given more time. - landros 2
You don't have to say again to me, I've said it's only 3 games. I've said I think he will improve and that the coaches can improve him. He should be given more time. The issue is that he is not showing any sign of being the player they need. As you referenced with unfortunately no. He's been really bad. With the circumstances that he has been brought in under, he is under that microscope. Angelo was really bad defensively but he at least had some fire offensively. Drysdale has been playing well below that level.

No, Flyers overpay because they can't develop them. This team has to have Poehling and Hathaway and Deslauriers while players like Lycksell. There is no room for them. Why should a non-contending team overpay for 4th liners? It's malfeasance.

I dont defend the Flyers at every turn. I have admitte im not a fan of having Luchenko up for the full year, Im not a fan of Andrae not playing.
The Flyers arent contenders. What they spend money on is irrelevant. The money spent on the 4th line is not preventing the Flyers from keeping their top players. Its really a blessing as they cant dip into FA and overpay for another guy like Hayes. The Flyers are doing good business because at the end of they day the business aspect is getting butts in seats. There are butts in seats. The number ` priority of a business is making money and they are making money. Flyers were paying AV millions of dollars to not coach for the team. Does that sound like great business? Fact is the Flyers have money and they can throw it around as they please and still profit.

Its crazy. Fans here are so bi polar. A player is great until he struggles. I remember when we had NAK. First he was so good and it was ridiculous he wasnt on the roster, then he takes too many penalties and he sucks and needs to go. Flyers trade him and all of a sudden hes the greatest thing since sliced bread and is treated like he carried the Avs to a cup
Drysdale is going to have rough patches. Hes not going to be a good defender immediately. He lost a lot of development time and is playing catchup. People are also making future decisions based on THREE games. That is exactly how the Flyers operated over the past 2 decades and how we ended up moving so many good players before they developed. |

Lets also mention all the people crying about Deslaurier playing in the lineup because Briere made a joke. 3 games in and we havent seen Deslaurier yet. Hes clearly not a priority for Torts to get in the lineup. Much as I suggested. |

That’s only because he has a ton of favorites though. He’s got to mix in Luchanko, cates, Poehling. ND is just odd man out |

Well said! It cracks me up when all of a sudden people missed NAK. If he were currently on the team, however, there would be whining about him being another vet taking up a roster spot from a stud like Lycksell.
As for Drysdale, he absolutely will have rough patches. He's 22. I am concerned about his injury history but looking forward to seeing him hopefully stay healthy and develop.

Always fun to watch the pens! They give up a humongous A ➕️ number of opportunities to their opposition. But they also create a ton themselves. Not a recipe for a Stanley Cup though. 🫠 |

I could be wrong but don't see ND playing a whole lot this year unless there's a bunch of injuries. He'll play against teams like the Rags here and there so he might get in 20 games. I'm sure most will say 20 is too many but I'm fine with him as a fill in on occasion.

To earn the right to sign a player like Deslauriers you have to be ready to open the pocket book |

After Jarry gave up 2 on 2 shots. He made a save and the crowd gave him a mock cheer. Haha. Sounds like they really have confidence in him |

I agree. Absolutely bipolar. Every player we trade away immediately becomes a fan favourite. |

You can say he was hurt last year, but he has shown virtually nothing since he has been here. I hear about this great skating ability and I don't see it. He looks lost on the defensive end at times and he's contributing nothing offensively. The other part of the scrutiny is the fact that the Flyers gave up a big piece for this guy. Am I giving up on him? Hell no, but please show us something! |

As a Flyers fan, is how the Flyers do business wise matter to you? What matters more to you, how they do business wise or if they become a legit cup contender? To me, how they do business wise is what is irrelevant.

Actually the smart hockey people such myself, knew that the Flyers made a mistake in waiving NAK and that he was a better player than some of the other players they kept.

Nobody is making future decisions based on 3 games. You have a repeated issue of misreading and misrepresenting what is posted by others. Rough patches are to be expected. Signs of not having what it takes to be the player needed, is the concern.

Let me get this straight. 3 games isn't enough to comment on Drysdale's play but 3 games is enough to know what Tortorella is going to do with the lineup all season?
