Actually the smart hockey people such myself, knew that the Flyers made a mistake in waiving NAK and that he was a better player than some of the other players they kept.

Nobody is making future decisions based on 3 games. You have a repeated issue of misreading and misrepresenting what is posted by others. Rough patches are to be expected. Signs of not having what it takes to be the player needed, is the concern.

They did not make a mistake waiving NAK. He was given chances. He was passed over on the depth chart. He has been a fringe NHL since.
No great loss in any way. If he was here now probably would have got the Laughton deal then you would be complaining about that.

would you (frank)ers that are giving up on drysdale so quick give up on luke hughes also?

Yes if Hughes also had 5 years in league and 16 injuries a year

Could the Avs be a legit bad team this year? Looking at their roster it seems very thin outside the big names

Dammit. It’s top 10 protected of course

There's a difference between giving up and giving an assessment of what the player has demonstrated so far. We want to see progress.

Some people want to ignore his 4 years/150 games/3000 minutes in the league when assessing him and others don't.

Luke Hughes at 84 games is a much better player than Drysdale at 150 games. The Devils would laugh at the Flyers if they tried to trade Drysdale for Hughes. If you asked 100 people which player they would rather have on their team, it would be 100-0 Hughes.

Drysdale will get plenty of opportunities this year to change the narrative and i don't see how he won't improve as there is no real way for him to be worse. In his 27 game sample size, TDA played better and Torts played 5 dmen rather than put him on the ice.

Let's hope he finds his groove because the Flyers need this trade to work out. Also, since Torts doesn't believe in systems, perhaps he could ask Shaw to change to a man to man defensive system as that's what Drysdale was comfortable in.

As a follow up question, if Luke Hughes was on the Flyers, could the Flyers develop him into a top pair dman? I don't think so.

It’s too early. The main issues is lack
Of tending. I’m sure they’ll swing a deal to fix that. They’re not going to just let it go off the rails this year.

I think he’s going to have a good year. It’s only La but he’s probably the best goalie they’ve had in the carousel. Interesting to see if he can handle the full workload. He’s had some injury issues as I remember
