You can’t pay a 4/5 dman that kind of $. Desharnais doesn’t have a whole lot to do w it. The ey think he has upside and we shall see
I love Z but at $4MM Not 6plus and term. I love Elias as well but not at $11.6MM. If he was on an $850k salary I wouldn’t mind taking a flier on him as he has some upside (on an entry level contract value) - CanuckDon
The full no movement clause which he didn't get is what made him feel disrespected. I liked him as well but there's a reason he's played on so many teams. |

When I heard Rutherford had talked to Carolina about trading him, I thought great. - VanHockeyGuy
I mean I get folks have wanted to trade Petey for awhile. I myself didn't think he was headed towards re-upping last year. 3 games is a little premature, but I also get that it was 2nd half and most of playoffs last year too. I'll wait till dozen game mark. If healthy, you can't take 12 games off at 12 mill. That's a problem.
The contract also throws everything way out of whack, even considering cap going up. Miller looks real low now, what is right for Boeser and what the hell do you sign Hughes when he's due ... 18 mill? |

Yeah agreed ... Boston usually gets their guy. Lindy, Z ... Neely
It is incredible how well he fit on nucks though. Guess that's what happens when you bounce around like that and are in contract year. He knew he was a unique size + talent for the market and was going for the cash. Maybe a little tug on the Chara heartstring memories for the Bruins. Not saying he's anywhere near Chara, just finally got their big guy again after Mcavoy leading the charge on the back-end for awhile. |

He's exactly the type of D the Canucks need. Trade for a younger version of him. |

I guess you search for a sympathetic mod backfired. - Marwood
So, odd question I guess but are you ok? A new poster can't pop up in here without being accused of being a different account? Appears you have some issues is all. |

Funny, Lordy asks the same question from time to time. Phrased the same way and suggesting mental health issues, too. |

Something else that is a step back on D is neither of the bottom pairing are better than Cole. It's pretty damn noticeable. Not to mention how much the team and coaches raved about his leadership in the room, on the ice and on the bench. Very vocal, very calming.
Management said that they were content with the roster and would deal with any issues that arise in season. I expect there will be a D acquisition at some point in the first third of the season.
Deharnnaise scratched 2 of 3 games. Brannstrom already called up... D is a mess already.

I told you guys the same thing. Nobody would listen. Loved Zadorov, he said at the end of the 2022-23 season that he wanted to finish his career and retire a Flame. Then no contract talks and he wants to be traded. He’s a lot like some of the posters on here. |

Didn't see anyone post this but probably why Brannstrom was recalled.
Forbort has left the team for "personal" reasons, no timeline given for a return |

“We’ve talked a lot about building a standard and were not playing up to that,” Miller said after practice in Sunrise, Fla. “A lot of that is urgency and determination. I have to worry about being a leader and bringing the team into the fight. I’m going to bring a better game, and if everybody does that, it will help.

“We look like we want it to be an easy night and it’s hard in this league. This is an awesome test for us. We should be super-excited. We have to get back to straight lines and focusing and defence more.”
